Does anyone know how much coffee is okay? I think that will be the hardest for me!

@Sulli – I think it is no more than 3 a day. I believe I am off though.

Your doctor will give you a list of what you should avoid during pregnancy and some people take it very seriously and don’t touch a single thing on the list during their entire pregnancy.  I personally have avoided all alcohol since I have been pregnant, but have had most of the foods in moderation.  All cheese is fine as long as its pastuerized.  Most cheese you will find in the U.S.  is pasteurized, but if you are buying gourmet, you probably want to be sure.  My doctor told me I can have 1 cup of coffee a day.  I didn’t want any during my first tri, but now I have 1-2 cups daily.  Some doctor’s tell their patients that they shoudln’t have any, some tell them 3 cups are fine.  You really have to decide for yourself what you are comfortable with.  Moderation is key.  If I drink a bit more coffee than usual one day, I make sure I drink a lot more water too.

Women have been having wonderful and healthy babies for centuries without all these restrictions.  Use your common sense and take care of yourself.
