We hung out at home drinking and playing games, then went to a party with friends/family before going to a park to watch the fireworks 🙂
Ever since we moved to the city we’ve been celebrating NYE. When we were out in the suburbs it just wasn’t worth it and I always tried to be in bed by 11pm lol. Travelling on NYE is a nightmare and not worth the bother just to see some fireworks, in my opinion. How about you? What did you get up to?

Me and my fiancée went to some gay bars in the city we live in, as we only live 6 miles from the centre getting an uber was fairly cheap and the bars don’t charge entry, so it’s a really good cheap night out.

We couldn’t leave our 4 cats along due to all the fireworks (how I despise them). We had 5 close friends over for a simple dinner, watched two old films and just hung out. One of the guests had early shift the next day, so she left just after midnight and I drove the other guests home when people stopped doing fireworks. That was at 1am. Nobody had a drop of alcohol. We’re not really much for partying, so we were all very happy with NYE.

I prepared my fiance a nice healthy dinner table, lots of candles and overall a nice ambience. We cuddled and danced to jazz with candles, later on we watched some shows on TV. I’m sick anyway, being with each others company, nice and warm was the best idea. 🙂
Looks like this.

We went out for all you can eat sushi, then watched some movies and had some drinks until the count down! We contemplated going for a walk but it was raining quite a bit here.

Some friends and family came over and we ordered food, drank a lot, watched Purple Rain, and played board games. Then after company left and Darling Husband went to bed, I hung out eighth my sibling watching stand up until the wee hours of the morning. Absolutely loved this NYE.

We were supposed to have friends over but they couldn’t make it, so in the end, Darling Husband cooked a traditional Spanish dish (arroz al horno), we drank a lot of sangria, watched a film and then went for a walk to watch the fireworks over the city at midnight. Can’t really be bothered to make a fuss about NYE.

My fiance and I went with his family to a German restaurant for dinner like we do every year, and then we all went back to their house and played “How do you meme?” until midnight, then promptly went to bed lol

We made dinner and my son and his girlfriend and my daughter and her friend joined us. I feel lucky to have the kind of relationship with my kids where they enjoy spending time with us. They all made different kinds of mixed drinks and forced me to have a sip of each. But I hate the taste of alcohol so all I did was a sour face lol.

At a house party where most of my social interaction was with a Saint Bernard.

My local pub held a lock in for the regulars, they put on a buffet, we had a couple of beers and just chilled in the pub. Nothing overly exciting just nice, like a night out at the pub really

I bartend part time so I was working all night. But I made good money, so worth it.

My husband and I went out of town to visit friends who had recently moved. We went to an escape room earlier in the evening, had dinner at a Mexican restaurant, went to a bar and sat around for a while, then went back to their house and played Cards Against Humanity for the rest of the evening.

ArcadiaRose : I would have loved to have stayed in this year but my husband decided to DJ a party to make some extra money, so I went to that. It was at a restaurant/bar that I wouldn’t have otherwise gone to (not our crowd at all but he’s friends with the owner) but we managed to have a pretty good time. One woman was rude to my husband and I toward the end of the night so that kind of put me in a bad mood, but we were getting paid to be there while she paid to be there, so I didn’t let it keep me down. I’m looking forward to relaxing all day before it’s back to reality tomorrow. Happy new year, everyone!
