My husbands family has run a firework stand since the 2000s. I haven’t had a single 4th or July or NYE celebration since we’ve started dating 7 years ago because we always have to work the stand. Last night was officially our last night ever selling fireworks!! So relieved to finally let this go, it was time lol

Stayed in. Drank some amazing wine. Cooked rib eye steak. Then went to a rooftop a few minutes walk away which has a 360 view of our city. It was relatively quiet up there and the fireworks we great. It was lovely.

My husband had to work so a few friends came over for a drink and to listen to records. They were out by 9 and I was in bed by 10. I don’t like all the hype that surrounds the night to have the best night ever and to go all balls to the wall party. While it’s always exciting that I lived through another year ,it is just a regular night for me and I haven’t done anything on it that I don’t do on any other night for a while now.
