We were planning a trip to San Francisco and the Grand Canyon for the week leading up to our 1st anniversary, but other coworkers had requested that week for vacation, so we had to bump ours up by 6 weeks, so it’s kind of an early anniversary trip. We’ll probably go out for a nice dinner date on our actual anniversary day.

ladyvictoria :  where did y’all decide?!

Were coming up on ours in May, so we’re going back to Hawaii. We got engaged and married on Oahu and that’s the only island we’ve been to so this time we’re going to Kauai! I can’t wait!

We moved into our first house four weeks before our anniversary, it was also my birthday two weeks before and his birthday three weeks after, so money was tight. Initially we wanted to go to the hotel we stayed in when we got engaged but we just didn’t have the time or money. So we swapped our anniversary presents when they arrived a day before our anniversary. We spent the weekend painting but we picked a meal to cook together, put the fire on (yay for winter) and had a really expensive bottle of wine in our new house.

Sounds like so many lovely ideas! Ours is not for another 8 months but at a guess I think we’ll either have a posh meal out or a weekend away somewhere to celebrate!

llevinso :  Fiance and I spent 4 days in San Diego last August (the day after we got back home to Chicago he proposed!) so I think that trip will always hold a special place in my heart! If you want to be “go go go” while you are there you can easily check off a ton of site seeing and touristy things! We did the Zoo, La Jolla Beach, dinner on the ocean, Coronado Beach, paddle boarding in Coronado, dinner in Little Italy (that’s where we stayed in our AirBnb), a tour of the USS Midway, a baseball game at Petco Park and bar hopping in the Gaslamp Quarter…needless to say we were exhausted by the 4th day! Hahaha You are absolutely going to love it, Bee!!! Congrats and have fun!

I’m so jealous of you all. Our first anniversary this year was spent with both of us at work and coming home doing nothing. We went to dinner I think a couple days later but it was nothing different than a usual dinner out. To be fair though I felt pretty loved as he had 2 surprise flower deliveries made to my workplace on different days. I wish we could go on little vacations like other couples but he doesn’t seem into planning that type of thing for us

We went to dinner and I treated myself to a small glass of prosecco… I had our first baby 5 days later by emergency c-section. :S

llevinso :  Because we had a kid, I think it was a quiet dinner for us.  But we made it special.

Yay congrats!

On the day of we just went to a fancy restaurant in town, ableit one with gorgeous mountain views.

The weekend after we did go back to the midwest to near where we got married – it’s where our families live too and my mom had frozen the top of our wedding cake, no way I was flying home with that after the wedding lol. So we had a little cake eating party with the family. I would have loved to go to the Inn we married at but it was a few hours away and we get back so rarely we just spent time with our families. Maybe we’ll go back to the scene of the crime for our 5th smile

And due to an unplanned turn of events we’ll be on vacation in the Swiss Alps for our 2nd… that is gonna be amazing!

llevinso :  yep four weeks! In aus if your a registered nurse doing shift work then you are entitled for 7 weeks annual leave a year!! We had our honeymoon to Vegas, LA, Miami, San Fran, Mexico, cayman islands, jamaica, hawaii and bahamas for another 4 week holiday. I have a travel addiction ๐Ÿ™‚
