dreamer925 :  yea hun! Because although we went with purple and blue but we were selective about which shade to use as we went with Plum and Navy blue! I’m sure you’ll end up with really pretty colors either way hun.

dreamer925 :  Orange is my favorite color, and we’re getting married in the fall, so originally I wanted to do Orange and Navy.

However, the more I looked the more I realized I didn’t want something quite so bold. My dress ended up being kind of a peachy color, so I just kinda shifted it that direction. I felt like we needed another netural so I added champagne; mostly because I wanted some sparkle, but didn’t want to go with a traditional metallic.

So I ended up with Navy/Peach/Champagne. I’m calling it Bellini & Blue 😀

I used my favorite color scheme to invoke a moonlit,  snowy landscape transitioning from twilight to midnight feel. Our venue was winter in the mountains so it all worked out! I just kinda followed my gut.

We’re getting married in the fall, so that inspired us. I also like oranges and blues, but wanted something soft. Pinterest helped. I designed our colors around the bouquet that I wanted

Since our day was in October I decided on fall colors but concluded that I didn’t want the traditional orange, red & brown so I researched alternative fall color combos and found the navy, burgundy & gold combo and fell in love.

We aren’t holding 100% rigidly to a color scheme, but we have a color palette we’re using where possible.  Our venue is an art nouveau building with a lot of natural decorative elements already present (ie, art, beautiful antique decorative tilework, period-appropriate paint colors, etc).  So we’re working with the colors and elements already there, then added a few accent colors that are complimentary.

Alot of people use the season they are marrying in to choose and I sort of based it on that but also because I generally love these colors the most. So I am doing mint and light pink because it felt so spring and  me andbright to my wedding is late spring early summer. I think it is also good to go with colors you like. Another thing you can do is if he chose a color and you chose a color and see if it matches in any way.

Good luck.
