@Loribeth:  I LOVE Christmas weddings! I think they’re so beautiful with all the seasonal decor, the coziness, and the winter touches. This looks like a beautiful Victorian venue, and I love the lace on your dress, especially that train!

We knew we wanted a vinyard wedding(a la tuscany), but couldn’t find an affordable, suitable venue, so we extended the idea to old mansions with nice grounds. We got engaged in Venice so a venetian Masquerade seemed an appropriate theme (with a dash of the original wine idea and Midsummer Night’s Dream thrown in). Our favorite colors are blue and purple and those seemed like good colors for a masquerade. The rest just sort of fell into place. (i can’t wait for pro pics!!!)

to be completely honest, i was so tired of stressing over colors/themes, that i put my top 4 faves in a hat and drew one. thats the one we r going with. now that im into planning, i realize the one i dres is actually the best color scheme for me. natural and organic since we r going with a destination botanical garden.

Basically my wedding colors are the same as colors I decorate with… so I clearly am just choosing colors I like.

@anemonie:  As it turns out, I love Christmas weddings too, even though I didn’t plan one! Just one of those happy things that just happen.  We got married in Savannah Georgia in a bed & breakfast in the Historic district. Just a beautiful, beautiful place.

Your wedding looks beautiful! and you look gorgeous!!!  Fall weddings are so colorful. I love them!

I grew up with horses, traveling to rodeos, was a rodeo queen, so the rustic/country vibe was a no brainer. but with a little bit of sparkle as id go out to feed my horses in my pink frilly dress. lol. my fiance works in the woods as a wild land fire fighter so then again the rustic feel with lots of natural touches seemed to fit perfectly. i chose the color pale pink because thats what i wear almost every day. i almost always have something pink on. i know my fiance doesnt want a TON of pink so we are using more natural colors like creams, browns and tans with touches of pale pink and sparkles.

Nerdy, purple/turquoise wedding.

We’re both big nerds, we each chose a color. Easy peasy.

I started dreaming of weddings before we got engaged (we’d been talking about it for months, admittedly & had started shopping for rings), and my first big question was whether to get married in NZ where I grew up or Melbourne, where Chris grew up and which is my adopted hometown.  Eventually it became clear I wanted a Melbourne wedding, but it had to be by the sea (I grew up in a house overlooking the ocean, all my childhood vacations were on boats or by the sea, etc).

The first venue I fell in love with was reminiscent of those sandy childhood holidays, and I was envisaging a coral & grey colour scheme thanks to photos I’d seen on Pinterest.  But there were issues with the shape of it and the fact that it was a couple of hours out of the city.  My parents preferred a venue at a yacht squadron coincidentally right by where FH proposed, and from the moment we saw it ourselves we knew it was perfect.  At that point I’d already started to rethink the colour scheme to blue & grey, and given the room has a very neutral bluey-grey palette, that decision was confirmed.  However it soon became apparent that by the end of March blue hydrangeas, my preferred choice of flower, weren’t going to be available, so I have changed for a fluffy mix of pale pink and apricot, with some grey in the bouquets too.

As for our vintage theme, that actually came from my ring!  We quite unexpectedly went with a vintage looking ring we both fell in love with and once we had the venue confirmed, all I could think of was lace accents 🙂 (but it’s going to be more on the classic/traditional side of vintage).

It’s probably all best explained by looking at this! lol http://pinterest.com/carlyswedding/

After my fiance having to convince me that we couldn’t have the winter wedding I had always dreamed about we ended up going with an idea we had only joked around with. Having it in Tennessee where my dad is from at my great uncles house. Naturally with it being by the mountains we had to do it in fall.

From there i went on pinterest and it just kind of evolved into what it is now. Our colors are plum, lime, chocolate and ivory. very diy, country/chic/rustic with a hint of vintage.

I wanted an ivory dress. He wanted something formal without being as severe as black, so I suggested gray suits. We wanted a little bit of color, so we added red as the highlight. Bam.

We chose our colour scheme (blue and purple) because blue is his favourite colour and purple is mine. We chose our theme (books) because we both enjoy reading and it has been my favourite hobby since I was born. We wanted to make our wedding personal to both of us, so the colour scheme and the theme will reflect us very well 🙂
