I opted for dark navy and pink because I think the contrast between the colors compliments each other well beside each other and dark navy is a neutral and classic enough color that I won’t look back at my pictures and go “What was I thinking”. Also, light neutral colors like peach and nude don’t work well on my BMs’ skin tones because it washed them out. We all also opposed hot/neon colors too. Champagne/gold kind of ended up being our third color because we were talking with our decorator and my Fiance suggested using champagne colored sashes for the chairs. Our decorator had advised that navy sashes may look too severe, especially for our venue, and that pink sashes may look too much like a birthday party.

Fall is my favorite season and October is my favorite month (I LOVE Halloween) but the venue we liked doesn’t do weddings in October because they have a month long Haunted House at the location.  So we decided the last weekend in Sept would work.

I wanted fall colors to fit in with the natural surroundings of the outdoors.  At first I was thinking all fall colors: orange, red, yellow, purple etc.  After I thought about it I decided it might be too much.  So after I talked to our florist about the flowers we wanted they were mostly red and orange.  I decided to keep it simple with those two main colors and the wedding parties will be wearing charcoal gray for a contrasting color.

This is my inspiration picture:

@Aquaria:  I picked my colors by what colors I think look best on me even though I know Ill be wearing white! Royal/rich colors! Then I realized all the colors I love the most are in a peacock feather so now peacock colors are our colors! My BMs will be in Royal blue, I will have blue and turquise flowers in my mostly white bouquet along with peacock feather, the Goom will have a royal blue vest and the Groomsmen will have emerald green vests. The chair that we are using for our reception are a dark gold! Its all perfect!

I never wanted a white dress!  When I found the perfect gold dress, I knew the colors that complimented it would be chocolate brown and Ivory.  🙂
