pinkprincess88:  I don’t know if I ever did lol. I knew I didn’t want an actual color scheme and that I wanted it to be soft, romantic and timeless for the overall look. I put the girls in the blush pink dresses and the groomsmen in gray so that it was softer. groom was in black. the girls had white bouquets and mine was white/cream with pieces of blush pink. Tableclothes were white but the rest of the decor was glass and candles/lights. I was really worried about using colors because I heard too many people talk about things not turning out how they pictured and colors not matching. start looking at what you have on Pinterest and see if you can find a trend in what you like

I knew I wanted orange, it’s my absolute favorite color. I also knew one of my bridesmaids would look horrible in orange and having the guys were it would be serious overkill.  Since the dresses I picked were fifties style, I went with crinolines and bouquets in my (vivid) color and found the best match was navy. They looked awesome and I got a lot of compliments on the color scheme.

At the same time, though, our centerpieces were a variety of colors.  We had some to match the orange bouquets but a lot of yellow, white, even pinks and purples here and there.  We bought big bouquets at the grocery store and made our own.

DH wanted input so I asked him to choose one of the colours.  He chose his favourite colour, royal blue (mine too) and I knew my ladies would be happy to wear royal blue so it left the second colour  wide open.

Next part in narrowing down my decision was the fact that I didn’t want dyed flowers.  Since there are very few naturally blue flowers, I wanted to choose a second colour that there were a variety of options naturally… I chose yellow and it worked out perfectly.

We picked our favourite colours; yellow, green and purple. Grooms tie will be green, my shoes will be yellow, Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses will be purple, Groomsmen ties will be purple too. We’re getting a blue car and will also have white flowers mixed in with yellow and purple flowers.

I started with the overall feel I wanted: soft, romantic. I looked at flowers and everything I loved had light shades of pink and white with darker colors for accents. Since we’re getting married in coastal Maine, I wanted to incorporate that with a nautical feel so I came up with blush, navy, and cream for our colors.

pinkprincess88:  I knew I wanted some sort of shade of blue, as it’s my favorite color. It all really depended on the season (although I know that this really doesn’t matter). Our wedding was last Fall, so we did (meditteranean) blue, red, orange, and some yellows – typical Fall colors.

If we had gotten married in the spring, it would have been a lighter blue, with accents of orange and pink. Or, blue with coral or mint.

I wanted the overall feel to be glamorous, oppulent and classic, so we went with black, gold, champagne and ivory. I always wanted a black and gold wedding, and my Fiance loved the idea 🙂

We got our insparation from our home. The first piece of art we purchased together (like 6 years ago) is hanging above our bed. We love it so much and it’s always the first piece of art we place in our home whenever we move. We asked our designer to essentially recreate it for all of our wedding stationary and pulled the colours out for various elements in the wedding. Girls and guys are in black, flowers are red, orange, and yellow, etc. Here’s the piece above our bed.

Here’s our thank you cards

Wow, so many of you put tons of thought into your wedding colors. I just picked the colors that I like the most so pink, gold, and gray it is.

We both love sunflowers and Doctor Who so yellow and royal blue were pretty obvious 🙂

We’re having a fall wedding but didn’t want to do the usual Orange, golds and reds you typically see for fall, so I chose plum/eggplant.  FI’s favorite colors are green and blue so we added those 2.  Then I was on pinterest looking for ideas and found a peacock feather theme that helped to tie it all together.

I was looking around http://www.theperfectpalette.com/ like a feind. Found tons I liked, but nothing I loved. Then these little purple and orange pansies bloomed in my backyard and I feel in love. My colors are purple and orange, beautiful for a Fall wedding.

We just chose our favorite colors, and then looked on pintrest for color schemes to match them with accent colors.   We’re doing orange, teal, hints of apple green and gold accents.  Sounds crazy, but the pics we found are gorgeous!
