as long as I’ve been on Weddingbee, I have not posted photos of myself, or if I have I blurred out my face.
I don’t really know why, I guess I just felt like it was in the interest of cyber safety. I was really wanting to post our engagement photos but im hesitating for that reason… I dont want them to end up in google images or anything.
How did you decide whether or not to post pictures of yourself? Did you put them up to share them but them take them down after a couple weeks?
Im just curious what motivates others to stay more or less private on the internet. Thanks!

I have no fears of people connecting my WB account to who I am in real life.
So I’m very free about posting my pictures/stories/thoughts/opinions!

I refuse to put my photo on. If you google around, you will see that bees are spoken about on other websites.
I also don’t want anyone stealing my photos or just having them “out there”

I didn’t post any personal photos, mostly because I don’t want them floating around the internet. I had a couple people ask me about recaps, and I shared my photographers link with them so they could see, but that was it.

I think there’s a certain comfort in anonymity. People can say things over the internet that their ‘social filters’ wouldn’t allow them to say in real life. So, if you want to be stark raving b*tch, or a know it all when no one knows who you are you can.
Once you put your face out there, then you are personally accountable for the things you say and do.
I’m a big believer in standing behind the things I say and being accountable for them.

I used to have a different account where I posted some more intimate/embarrassing concerns, and I never gave any personal info on that one. When I created this account, I did so with the express purpose of being able to freely show my face! So now I am just careful not to post anything I wouldn’t want anyone and everyone to be able to find. Keeping my face as my avatar helps me remember that I am NOT anonymous on here, haha.

I don’t care about showing my face, because I don’t post anything here that I would mind if any of my friends or family discovered.

I like the anonymity, so I can receive and give objective and candid responses.

I actually make a very concious effort to not say anything on this site that I wouldn’t say in real life, or that I would be embarrased if someone somehow found out who I was in real life. I think it makes me a more respectful bee, as anonymity can sometimes encourage people to speak more harshly than they would in real life. So I don’t really have anything to hide. I don’t post my address or facebook account, but if someone happens to connect the dots, so be it. So I share pictures.

@FutureMrsT1221: I have a couple friends who know I post here under this name. I don’t care about that. But I don’t post pictures or personal information because people are crazy. We have seen people track down bee’s Facebook profiles and just be super weird. I don’t need that. Honestly, I signed up for that valentine swap because I’ve done swaps on other sites but I’m thinking of bowing out because I thought about the stalker situations I’ve seen here.

I have a fairly prevelant online personality already. I am not afraid of my face being out there.

I share my face because I don’t have anything to hide BUT the other day a bee actually tracked down my FIs Facebook page & messaged him about a vent I posted. It was nothing I wouldnt have told Fiance, but I think that crosses the line and Idk what bee it was– but it made me uncomfortable.

@MrsTVLover: Wow, that’s pretty scary about the Bees being gossipped about. Something to think about.
I have my recap pics up, but I will be deleting them soon as I am in the process of making my profile more anonymous for professional reasons.
