I would personally not take them at the same place. We live near the beach, so our pictures were taken there, but I think a park or even a nice backyard could work. Your fh’s campus may also have some pretty spots

Well, it’s going to be blazing hot here when we do our pictures in a few weeks, so we decided to go up into the mountains where it will be much cooler. So the weather had everything to do with our choice!

I’m not bothering to do engagement pictures at our venue because we’re just going to get those same shots on our wedding day. I don’t want the same backdrop for both sets of pictures.

Woo July 5th is my birthday!  We choose a place based off of our personalities.  We’re kiind of edgy and spunky…haha that’s how I’d describe us.  We didn’t travel but choose where in our city best fit our style.

We’re actually going to be taking our pictures at the park right next to our venue. We’ll also probably take some in the neighborhood. We might take one or two on the steps of our venue. Only because it’ll look like a castle behind us and our invitations have a castle on them.

I’d take pictures at a different location…maybe one that has meaning for both of you?  Or just a pretty and/or fun location around where you live.  Some of the most fun engagement pictures I’ve seen have been candids- like the photographer was following the couple around on a date or something.  In the end, you’re paying for the pictures, so go where you’ll feel comfortable and where you’ll want to remember this awesome time of being engaged!

Your wedding pictures will be taken at the venue.  Agreed with everyone else you should do them somewhere else.  We did them at a park that is directly behind our house, beautiful scenary and really convenient, plus we took our dog.  I recommend a place that you both enjoy and represents who you are.  Depending on the style of photos you want, whether they be very professional or more fun, this is your chance to pick a place that’s unique or different and that is dear to your hearts.

I personally wouldn’t take e-pics at the venue. We found someplace meaningful to us to take our pictures. Maybe where you met, first date, place you spend a lot of time, etc.

I would not have engagement pics and wedding pics taken at the same place, but that’s just me.

I decided on having the pics taken at a local park with lots of trees and even a grassy hill. I wanted to make sure nothing city-like was in the pics. We’re very outdoorsy, nature lovers. I used to take long walks in the paths of this park, so it’s special to me.

We just had them done a week ago, so don’t have them all yet, but here’s two teasers my photographer posted on FB.

We took them at a few different places, all outside because it was a beautiful day and I really loved the locations. We took a few at a big park with a gorgeous rose garden, a park I used to go as a kid next to the river, and in my front yard. They all turned out great ๐Ÿ™‚ I wouldn’t personally take them at the same place as I am getting married, since I will have photos there when I get married.

I love when engagement pictures have a little meaning for you! We’re doing ours at Citizens Bank Park where the Phillies play in June. My Fiance has been a huge sport since he was little and that was where one of our first dates was and when we both knew this was more than just a guy and a girl dating ๐Ÿ™‚ I also love outside locations, little towns, etc. Go with what you want and where you’ll feel most comfortable. Have fun with it!

I initially wanted our photos taken at our ceremony site because I think it’s so beautiful. It’s a botanical garden. However, Fiance immediately said no since we are having our wedding photos there.

He instead suggested that we have them taken at the local arboretum. A place where we have spent time together and it also beautiful.

We’re scheduled for our pictures now June 15th! Smile

Our venue has an orchard behind it, so we took most of our engagement photos there because it is different scenery than will be seen on the wedding day.

I would choose a place with sentimental value.  We’re trying to decide where to take the pics:  Coney Island in New York or the lake 20 minutes away.

For our wedding pics, we’re planning to take pics near our venue.
