I’m having so many last-minute wedding logistic questions today! I will be having 7 bridesmaids (no maid of honor) and am wondering how everyone decided their bridal party order for the processional and standing next to the bride?
At this point, I am very close to drawing straws! I love all my ladies (and 2 of them are my FSILs so I don’t want to put either of them in front because I want to avoid favoritism).

ladylawyer: I put them alphabetically by last name – with my Maid/Matron of Honor first, obviously. My SIL made my wedding a fucking nightmare and I wanted her as FAR from me as possible. Luckily, her last name is at the end of the alphabet 🙂

You can do it by height or alphabetical or some other arbitrary method. No one’s feelings can get hurt if it’s a reasoning that clearly has nothing to do with who you are closest to.
We actually are doing family first though. FI’s brother is his best man so he will be first, then his sister (who is a groomswoman), then his best friend. It’s the reverse on my side though – first my best friend who is my maid of honor then my brother.

We went in age order. It was the simplest for us.

We paired them with the guys and our relationships
Maid/Matron of Honor + Best Man (Cousin and brother)
Bridesmaid or Best Man 1 + Groomsmen 1 (both childhood friends)
Bridesmaid or Best Man 2 + Groomsmen 2 (both college friends / and the rowdy ones, haah)
Bridesmaid or Best Man 3 + Groomsmen 3 (My sister in law and my brother)
Our whole wedding party is very relaxed, and don’t really care what order they go in. They have all also been through planning weddings, so they get it. BM 2 had a particularly tough time with the order of the BMs, basically because of her parents. She wanted myself or one of the other BMs to be close to her, while her family demanded that her cousin would be next to her (she isn’t close to this cousin). I was like… ok, drama, put me whereever it is easiest for you, it has no bearing on our personal relationship, and hopefully will make life easier for you.

by height. it helps that my Maid/Matron of Honor and FI’s Best Man are both the tallest anyway.

ladylawyer: I did my Maid/Matron of Honor and then my sister who was my matron. After that I did it in order of who I knew the longest to shortest. My hubby had no order lol, our siblings walked together though.

ladylawyer: I did my bridesmaids in order of when I met them. My sister was moh so that was easy.

I picked who I wanted to walk with which groomsman and then had DH pick what order he wanted the guys in. One less thing I had to deal with!

I’m doing Bridesmaids by age and then matching Groomsmen based on who should walk with who.
