I found a brooch bouquet I absolutely loved and have pretty much based a lot of things off of the colors (pinks) in the bouquet.

I knew that I wanted navy blue and was originally going to pair it with chartreuse.  Then I found my wedding gown, which is Maggie’s ivory with light gold overlay and suddenly, my color choices changed.  Now I’m having a vintage-themed wedding with navy, ivory and gold accents.

I would start playing around with different color schemes, figure out a theme (if you’re going to have one) and it may just “come” to you. Smile

First off, CONGRATULATIONS! 🙂

I only have one color as of right now – emerald.  It’s my birthstone and J is Irish so it fits us perfectly.  I am currently trying to think of other colors to go with it that is unique.  I am finding that a lot of themes this year are peacock colors – green, purple, blue, etc.

So, I’ve been looking around and googling.  I still have a lot of things running through my head too.  It’s a very exciting time.

Happy planning!  Let us know what you come up with!

When I first started thinking about it I knew I wanted something bright and fun, but not too clownish. My sister used purple and I knew I didn’t want pink.

Then I started looking around my house. Red couch, red toaster, geometric rug with reds and light blues, blue vase, teal curtains. I had seen a few inspiration boards with bright red and aquas/tiffany blues and it just kinda clicked. I never realized how many things I liked in my life were those 2 colors. I’ve never really been a “favorite color” person, I’m hoping it comes out as pretty and sharp as I want it too.

I honestly don’t think Fiance cares as long as I don’t make him wear pink or yellow 🙂

We had a graphic designer do a mockup of a Save the Date for us and they happened to be Cream, Brown, and Green…so we decided to just roll with that! Green Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, cream colored bouquets, maybe brown linens and decor. It all happened kind of organically.

I couldn’t decide on a color…  so I picked all of them.  Maids in blue, green, and red, flower girl in yellow, moms in purple…  Maybe I can get our ushers to wear orange?  Even an orange tie would suit me…

I started with my favorite color: purple. Because it’s a fall wedding, I decided to go with a dark eggplant shade and I wanted something bold and fall-like to go with it, so I chose burnt orange. I’ve always thought purple and orange look really neat together but it isn’t a combination you see very often. I’m excited to see how it all comes together.

Congrats on your engagement and have fun planning!

My fave colour is green and my husband’s is blue.  We had decided to try and incorporate both, and then his kind of fell by the wayside.  We ended up incorporating some grey and white into the wedding.  Since our wedding was in a flower filled backyard, we didn’t do much decor anyway.  It also helps to look at websites that post inspiration boards (check out Snippet and Ink).  I think the key is to discuss colours you both like and dislike, and go from there!

We’re having a fall themed wedding so fall colors were the obvious choice. Our colors are burnt orange and chocolate brown with accents of plum and rust red.

Congratulations! My colors ended up being red white with accents of silver because it matches the Marine blues and red is my FI’s favorite color.

I don’t even remember how I came up with navy blue. I guess because it is my favorite color and I always dreamed of a preppy wedding. I went between accents of yellow or pink and finally decided on pink because it matched the church we were supposed to get married in. Now we are getting married outside but I still stuck with pink because I liked the flowers better.

I knew I wanted green. I love green!

I added blue when I found this dress for my bridesmaids:
