I know The Knot is a huge hub to find photographers and videographers! I am a wedding photographer/videographer myself and most of my clients use The Knot/sites like it to find their vendors! I would definitely recommend it 🙂

I Googled “Boston wedding photographers” and went through a ton of blogs to find ones I loved, then cross referenced them against their reviews. I paid $5500, but I flew the photog out for our San Diego CA wedding, and she did rehearsal dinner, engagement, and 9 hours day of coverage with full editing and printing rights. Plus, she was amazzzzzing

I was referred by my venue to a few photographers and looked through their albums that were in the venue’s office and then I looked them up on the internet and sent some emails and made some phonecalls. I spent much more than $1000.

@Happilyevaafter5:  I found mine through a lot of searching, even on Yelp.  I am in Chicago, what is your price point?

I found my photographer through a referral from the company I really wanted to hire but was booked for my date. But what I did first was got vendor list from the 2 venues that I was interested in and started looking at everyone’e website. I spent $4,200 for 2 shooter and 12 hours of coverage as well as all our proofs and wedding album. I looked at 20+ photographers and found this to be an average price.

I just asked for any advice for Bay Area wedding photographers on Facebook, and a friend of mine actually turned out to be a wedding photographer!  I’m paying $1200.

@Happilyevaafter5:  What’s your timeline? We got all of getting ready AND the entire reception and only needed 9 hours. Each extra hour will cost you a LOT so see if you can condense the day a bit.

I believe I found a thread right here on the ‘bee where Meowkers recommended her photographer. I LOVED their work on their site and blog, and was even more excited when they were from San Diego, not OC! Thank you, Meowkers, wherever you are!

I found our photographer through a friend, technically. I had a friend who did makeup and hair for another friend of hers and she posted a picture that she was in. I checked out the photographer’s site and loved her style (and her pricing didn’t hurt, either).

I was up and down, attempting to find the right photographer at the right price point. Last year, I started googling the venue that we are using and the words “wedding photo”. I came across a bunch of photographers blogs and looked at how they had taken photos at our venue. I found a few I liked, but they were out of our price range.

Then one day I said, “Okay God, you know my price range. You know I need a photographer. Please help me find the right one.” I googled and came across a new photographer who was $50 below my price range, had photographs at our venue that made me cry from the emotion he captured, and it turned out he works with someone at our church. I knew he was the right one. We booked him immediately.

His wife has been studying photography to join his business and I believe you can have both of them come to capture your wedding. http://rojofotodesign.com/ He is out of Aurora but works all over the state. Tell him the skydiving couple sent you 😉
