I haven’t booked with him yet, but the photographer we are seriously considering I found through a blog post he wrote about a wedding he covered at our venue.  We liked his photography and what he did with the lighting and the space.

Another photographer we are considering we found through a friend’s referral.  The other two who are “probably nots” were found on WeddingWire.

we had a destination wedding, so our wedding coordinator sent us a list of photographers who she had worked with in the past.  she also included their websites, so we of coursed pored over those before choosing who we wanted.

I found mine (Tara Welch, Austin, Texas) through online searches. I googled things like Austin wedding photographer, hill country wedding photographer, elopement photographer, etc. I saw images from several photographers that I liked and contacted them. Only TWO of the 5 or 6 that I contacted replied! I was shocked, actually. Anyway, Tara and I emailed back and forth. She didn’t have pricing for elopements, so we discussed that, along with other things, and we seemed to hit it off. I loved her style, so it worked out great. I also looked up her reviews, which were all stellar.

So that’s probably a good thing to take note of if you have your own business – some folks may be searching for photogs for elopements, and if you’re willing to do those (quick and easy money, really), then add that to your SEO.

I’m a Disneyland bride- so I found my photog through the Disneyland bride group. She’s highly recommended from other brides and is a former Disneyland park employee, so she knows all the good spots… Plus her work is magical!

Facebook!  He had an ad on the side and it had a “mention you found me on facebook and receive $250 off!”

2 years later and he’s one of the largest and most popular wedding photographers in our area!  Definitely doesn’t need that Facebook ad anymore, haha.

My cousin’s husband is a photographer and although he might not produce the best wedding photographs compared to others, he will definitely produce the best for my budget!!

My sister suggested mine. Our photog shot a few of her girlfriends weddings… we loved her work and her prices!

I used Style Me Pretty’s Little Black Book to look at photographers in our area. I like the style used on the blog so I knew the recommended photographers would have a similar style.

Referred to me by a co-worker.  I had no intention of have a photographer at all, and changed my mind 3 weeks before the wedding and she was available.

My first photographeme came from a bridal expo where we entered for a free engagement shoot. We really liked her but then I was messing around on Craigslist and I actually found an amazing photographer there that’s a much better deal. She has a real website and blog etc bu I found her on good ‘ol CL.
