At counseling yesterday, my pastor found it odd that I requested to be announced as “Mr. and Mrs. Joe and Ginger Taffy” instead of just “Mr. and Mrs. Joe Taffy.” Speaking with others I know, apparently this is out of the norm? I have a hard time believing that! Anyone else get announced this way?

I plan on us being announced as “Mr & Mrs Baxter”.
I will be taking his surname, but I don’t want to be announced by his first name also.

I think he said Mr & Mrs Zach last name, but I’m not 100% sure. The whole day was a blur!

Didn’t do it. I’ve heard too many bandleaders/MCs/DJS announce people like the ringmaster at a circus, yelling at the top of their lungs. Definitely not for me. We had no grand entrance, either.

Neither, because I’m not taking his name. I don’t think I want us to be announced at the end of the ceremony, but I will work with the officiant on what she thinks. For the entrance into reception I do want to be announced but it will just be “for the first time as husband and wife, First name and First name!” or something.

“Mr. and Mrs. Joe and Ginger Taffy” is how we were announced. I hyphenated my last name but didn’t want Mr. and Ms. Joe Taffy and Ginger Taffy-Quacker.
The “Mr & Mrs Joe Taffy” thing is a blast from the past. You are your own person (obvs). You should be able to have your name stated too. Pastor needs to get with it! 🙂

I did Mr. and Mrs. [His Full Name] but that’s because it’s what I wanted. You do you and if your pastor won’t agree find someone else to perform the ceremony!
