We had the exact same numbers as you.  Bride,  Groom, 6 bridesmaids, 6 groomsmen, and 4 parents so 18 people.  We got a stretch Escalade that held 20 people.  We were all quite comfortable for the 20 minute ride from the hotel to the church and then the 30 minutes from the church to the reception.

We drove ourselves. I was in a friend’s wedding two years ago and we drove ourselves then, too…no reason they can’t do the same!

We just had everyone drive themselves (including us).  Also – for weddings where I’ve been in the wedding party, transportation has never been provided for us.  We’ve always just driven ourselves then as well.

We hired a 14 passenger van instead of a limo.  It was MUCH cheaper, and I didn’t really care about the glitz of a limo, I just wanted to get from A to B.

i voted limo, but really it was a 25-person shuttle van, usedf for hubby and i, parents, bridal party, and elderly folk. our reception and ceremony venues were a 10 minute walk away from each other, or about 4 blocks downtown, so most guests were on their own to walk.

Everything is in the same place, and also located a convenient five minute walk from my parents’ house.  However, we may be hiring a trolley or shuttle bus to get people to and from the hotels and venue.  I’m hoping to gauge interest from my guests before I make any firm plans.

I’m not married yet, but we are getting a Limo Bus, owned and operated by a limo company, and it looks like a limo on the inside, but its like a shuttle bus basically. I have Fiance and I, 4 Bridesmaid or Best Man and Groomsmen, and then 2 ushers coming with.

It’s a little more expensive than the regular “stretch limo’s” (Escalade, Excursion, Hummer, etc) but WAAYY more head room. Since my Fiance is 6’4″ he’ll need it. Plus you don’t have to crawl across the seats in your dress then.

I just found a limo company today that will shuttle me and my 5 BMs (and my mom, I think?) around for 3 hours before the wedding–assuming we’re still doing a First Look (still not sure), the limo will pick us up where we’re getting ready, drive us to our FL, then drive us to the ceremony/reception venue.  Then a chauffered sedan will pick up me and my Fiance from the venue at the end of the night and drop us off at our hotel.

I was contemplating not having a limo since I’m getting married during prom season and they can be really expensive, but this place told me I can just have them for 3 hours as long as we’re all finished by 6 PM.  My main concern was going from place to place in a big white dress (with a train) and not getting it dirty or wrinkled, so hopefully having a limo will prevent any dress mishaps!

@emilygrace07: The limo picked up the boys in the morning and us girls just walked (across the street) to our first look. We took the limo downtown to take all our pics and then it dropped us off at the ceremony. After the ceremony we just walked to the reception (down the street) and then Darling Husband and I took a taxi to our hotel oafter the reception!  🙂

We are having a limo take the bridal party to the church and one of the gm’s men will be driving my Fiance and the other two gm’s to the church. After the ceremony they will be all driving seperate to the reception and my Fiance will take the limo to the reception after our couple portraits.

We did not have to drive. Everything was in the same place. I was married near a Metro stop in Washington, DC, so people who chose to save $$ by staying at farther-away hotels were still able to get there via public transportation. I am a city person who hates to drive, so this was actually pretty important to me (although I will admit it likely did not matter to many of my guests). I hate having to rent a car when attending a wedding, and hate even more to have to drive from the reception to a non-walkable hotel.

get a stretched hummar for the bridal party.  They can seat about 14 people, are lots of fun and memorable.  Parents can drive themsevles or get a cab.
