I don’t know how I managed to pull this off but I didn’t go to the bathroom at all after putting on my dress. That had to have been over 9 hours of me not having to pee which is truly unprecedented. And I drank a lot of champagne.

I wore a tea length wedding dress partly cuz I just couldn’t deal with the inconvenience of a long dress. So…no problems at all.

cassiegirl : Same! I had resigned myself to needing a bridesmaid to help me because I had an enormous ballgown, but I just didnt need to go until the end of the night. I guess I have a bladder of steel?

Another toilet straddler here! I had a fit and flare. My bridesmaid waited in the hotel room in case I got in a pickle, but I was fine.

Anyone with a mermaid dress? My dress will be very form fitting around my hips so I’m not sure pulling it up will be an option. Im thinking I may just have to take the whole thing off everytime

haha this is a fun thread!! 😀 I wonder whatv I’ll do, 2.5 months till the wedding , I haven’t got a dress yet. But if mine turns out to be a hard one to go to the bathroom, I guess I’m screwed. I pee all the time hhahah.

I have a very full a-line dress (with a big poufy slip to boot!) and I am so worried about how I’m gonna manage to go!
At least I’m a teacher, so I’m used to holding it for hours 😂 But I will be in my dress for about 10 hours, so I am sure I’ll have to go somewhere in there!

sierrameadow : I brought a garbage bag with a slit I cut in the bottom with me just like bethio described. My sister thought I was crazy but it worked perfectly! Here is the link I found it on.
How a trash bag helps you go pee all by yourself while wearing big ol' wedding dress

Following this! I have an A Line poofy dress and my wedding is in less than a month 😢

Another vote for straddling the toilet backward and having bridesmaids hold up my dress…the best was at the end of the night when my drunk friend was very eager to help and asked if I needed her to wipe for me. Like, you are a champion, but definitely not!!

I didn’t 😁 the first time I went to the toilet was after the reception in our suite

Thanks for all these replies! It looks like reverse cowgirl toilet style for the win. pamelina22 : I will definitely look into this as I think I will bring 1 or 2 trash bags with me and use this. I have a flowy/slightly poofy A line ball gown so I’m hoping I can hoist it up over my arm before I saddle up over the toilet : )

I had an A-Line dress. I actually just took the entire thing off the few times I went to the restroom over the course of the night! Our wedding suite was in the same small farm lodge as the venue, so it was easy enough to go up to my room to do that and return to the party.

I had a fit and flare dress with a very long flowy skirt. My mom helped me with the skirt the couple of times I peed on my wedding day. The skirt was so big that absolutely nothing was visible to her. I was not embarassed at all.

Wedding isn’t until September but my nursing bladder has been training for this for years! I regularly go 14 hours without peeing and then realize I look 4 months pregnant when I take off my scrubs (not recommended, please pee regularly). We’re doing first looks at 1 pm and wedding is 4-9 pm which means I only have to hold it for 8 hours! Piece of cake!
LOL in all seriousness I have a sheath dress and am planning on getting my wonderful maid of honor who has literally seen me naked before to just help me hold up the dress while I pee
