Hi, I am going dress shopping tongiht with my bff, and mom. We already went to Davids bridal last week and tried on some dresses.** I ended up buying a dress to use for the reception, and am leaning towards another dress for the ceremony/major parts of the reception before changing into the other.
I wanted to try this other Bridal store so that I don’t regret just going shopping at Davids. When I tried on the dress I am leaning towards buying, my bff almost had tears, and claimed that she could tell from my reaction as well. I loved the dress, and didn’t want to take it off.
So I guess my fear is getting overwhelmed tonight and not knowing what dress I love more.
** THe Ironic thing is I never pictured myself being a two dress bride, it never made sense to me why someone would spend that much money on dress only to change into another one later on. I decided to do it and go for it becasue believe it or not it was a 99 dollar dress, that I also loved, and because the other dress I am leaning towards, is a ballgown and quite heavy, so the 2nd dress will make dancing easier.

I just knew. I had tried on around 15 or so, and I liked most, loved a couple, but when I put on THE DRESS, strangers were literally coming up to me saying how beautiful I looked, and my mom and sister just had this look on their faces that I hadn’t seen before. I pictured myself getting married in it. Then I took it to the bee with my 2nd choice, and my instincts were confirmed! Almost everyone said to get the dress that I wanted.

@MissParrot: I tried that dress on. My mom was about to cry (and she’s not a crier) when I put that dress on but I’m not a fan of tulle on me and it didn’t fit my venue (outdoor ranch wedding). The dress I tried on next took my breath away. I was shocked as a mother of 3 I look that good. My waist looked so tiny! I was in love. I felt butterflies in my stomach. I knew it was the one. My Maid/Matron of Honor told me I should try on other silhouettes just to be sure this was the one. I tried on mermaid. It didn’t flatter me. I wanted to get back in my dress so bad. Well, it must have been fate because it was the last one left, it was my size and within my pricepoint. I was sold!

I didn’t want to take it off and I couldn’t wait to put it back on when I was trying on other dresses. It was the first dress I tried on, and I never had dress regret.

I tried on probably over 100 dresses, and there was always something I didn’t like or wanted to add/change. When I found one I didn’t have anything to comment on, that was it.

I knew it was the one (well, really the style) when I realized every other dress was compared to that one. Since the original is a fairly common style, several other retailers sold it from off name brands and I got a great deal. There was no crying involved, just lots of big smiles.

I knew b/c I felt comfortable in it, like myself and it was beautiful. And after I took it off I wanted to put it back on.

@MissParrot: I think you will just know whether it’s the one. I bought my dress last month. Being as indecisive as I am, I did not think I would find a dress on my first appt, nevertheless have the “it’s the one” feeling. It was either the 4th or 5th dress I tried on. I actually had a smile on my face for this one, so it was a start. I showed my family that was there and I was really thinking that this was it. Once it came time to try on the rest of the dresses, all I could think of was putting that dress back on. I only had an hour and a half (which to me seemed like a lot but getting in the dresses and being pulled in every direction with the corset takes time ). I was so happy to get back into that dress and thats when i knew it was the one.

I knew because I kept trying it on. I would try on another dress that I picked out and then go back to my dress. So basically I was trying it on every other time I changed 🙂

@MissParrot: I tried on that DB dress! It is STUNNING! I would definitely use it as a ceremony/pictures/cake cutting dress and the other one as a dancing dress!

Thanks…and here is my new favorite…was hoping I wouldnt fall in love with a more pricer gown, but its higher quality and over all I think I love it alot more than the other one…
Lucky its not a big enough of a price change for me to say no to it…

I didn’t want to take it off, and when I did (to try on more dresses), all I wanted to do was put it back on. Even now at fittings I’m like “I think I’m just gonna wear it a few more minutes…”
