I feel like a note with “Gifts” or “Cards” written on it might come off as gift grabby, but no one would guess what to do with a random totally empty table. We could leave it empty until someone asks, or put a card on it so that people get the idea? What are the bees planning?

Most people have a container labelled “cards” on that table. Guests get the message.

I wouldn’t consider designating a spot to be gift grabby. You are bound to receive gifts/cards. It makes sense to have a place for them lol. We are combining our card and guestbook table into one using this for cards:

We had a table that was gifts and cards on one end, and our guest book on the other. We left the gift end relatively empty with a birdcage labelled cards – everyone got the point and placed their gifts there lol. Our florist also decorated the table with some small vases of flowers and things so it wasn’t completely empty.

this was ours. we combined the card box with the memorial table (actually our florist did). we didn’t have a registry, so weren’t expecting (m)any physical gifts.
