We went to the same high school (he was a senior when I was a freshman) but didn’t know each other at all back then. He graduated in 2001, I graduated in 2004. Then, in December 2009, he posted an ad in the “platonic/friends” section of Craigslist personals, looking for people to hang out with. I responded, we started hanging out a lot, officially became a couple in May 2010 ๐Ÿ™‚

Online. Actually on AIM (remember that??).

It’s not clear who aim-ed (is that how you say it?) who first but I was minding my own business doing homework and left AIM open when boop someone says Hi…I answered and here we are..

He says that I sent him a link or something? And that instead of clicking on it he replied by saying Hi…

We technically “met” 7 years ago, and dated for about a month…then broke up because he left  for college and I was still in HS. A few years later after I had broken up with my first, legit, boyfriend….guess who was my shoulder to cry on?

Conclusion? My computer had the hots for his and sent him a virus link thingy that you click on.

    Smart computer huh.

We met on OKcupid.com. This random guy on the other side of the country messaged me and I thought “Sure I’ll write back, he seems nice and I’ll probably never meet him”. Ha! Little did I know. After a few months on the phone and a long visit, we decided he’d move to be with me and ta-da, bought a house and getting married three years later!

In my apartment – he was surveying my building for a restoration project. I opened the door and there he was!

He came back two days later to ask me out…

Halloween at a friend of a friend’s birthday party. I have to admit, I probably didn’t look like wifey material.

I had planned on being a tennis player but when a friend told me we were going to her Greek friend’s birthday party at a club, I panicked because I didn’t want to wear a sweatband and tennis shoes to this place. She talked me into being a “Moulin Rouge” girl with her, which was basically nylons, booty shorts, a corset & a feather boa.

I also asked her if there were going to be any cute, single Greek guys there and her response was “Yeah, but they only dates Greeks.” I guess I proved that statement wrong! ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyway, I was slightly embarrassed of the way I was dressed so I tried explaining the tennis outfit situation. To this day, when people ask what we were dressed as, he tells them I was a tennis player. ๐Ÿ™‚

We met in a nightclub through my bestie and her partner at the time. I actually don’t remember meeting him but i do remember the party we both went to the next day. We hit it off. I was 20 when we met. He asked me for my number and I totally denied him. He commented on my smile. I responded I don’t smile! I remember skipping away to my car.

The next day he came into my work at closing and waited for me to close my register and cash it up. We then exchanged numbers (after he tried so hard to get it off my friends).

It took us a number of months to get our first official date, lots of missed calls, clashes and a holiday away. We saw Ocean’s Eleven on Australia Day; as I wanted to also pick up the new silverchair single from the store (The Greatest View). I remember not shutting up the whole car trip home.

He asked me out 9 days later outside the same club we met in. We have been together since, 11 Years, living together for 6 years (one year living with his parents who live across the road from us.

We have almost finished renovating our home, only 2 more rooms left. I’m glad he was able to put up with me rambling on about silverchair and other random crap. We will be marrying close to the day we met too. I don’t remember the specific date. It was October sometime.
