We met in 11th grade and I had a huge crush on him. We became good friends and nothing ever happened…so then I went all the way across the state for school. When I came home five years later we were at a bar after he got out of work and asked if I needed a ride. As he was dropping me off at home he snuck in for a kiss…..I always tease him and say if the alcohol wasn’t around I would have slid out the door haha! Years later and he’s still stuck with me!

@gabrielleelise1981– sounds kind of like my story!
My Fiance was getting his Master’s in Nursing, and was a graduate student instructor/clinical instructor for one of my undergraduate nurses classes. We met the first day of lab, where we were practicing giving injections and placing IVs on a partner (yes… sounds kind of barbaric!). My friend and I were practicing, but we were having trouble getting the IVs in. My Fiance came over to help, and he offered us his arm to practice on! We didn’t start dating until the following semester, but throughout the semester he kept finding ways to “run into” me at school and on campus.
After we started dating, I asked him if he lets all his students practice IVs on him. He said, no, he had special intentions in helping us! So romantic, eh? 🙂

We actually met twice:
- Sunday before freshman year classes start. Waiting inline at the bookstore to buy ear buds, this strange (geeky-looking) guy stood behind me and started chatting me up- turns out we had a common friend in band. I was put off because I thought it was so weird that he talks to people in line (even though my mother and best friends do it all the time). He wished me luck with undergrad and we parted ways.
- Fastforward to Fall Break. I was rushing C’s sorority and after a rush event she told me to go to Swing with her and a sister. When we got there she introduced me to one of her friends and told him to teach me how to dance. He was incredibly charming and very forgiving as I kept apologizing for messing up. C and her sister went to a party leaving me with her friend. He loved that I have a Browncoat bag with the regimental patch (he instantly declared us friends when he saw it) and I loved that he knew Doctor Who and Stargate. He ended up inviting me to a coffee shop with some other people. The conversation was rather interesting- lots of pointed things like “I would never date a [variation of my name] with a C” (I’m a K) and talking about acceptable age differences (he was starting grad school). He also insisted on driving me to my dorm, even though it was across the street.
We started “hanging out” two weeks later and started dating almost exactly a month after we met the second time. I remembered meeting #1 about a month and a half into our relationship.

I met Mr. Romance (yes, that is his real last name) through a mutual friend who thought we would just click. The moment I met him…I know this is SO cheesy but, I just knew he would be the man I marry!

@Ms. Kibitz- did you by chance go to a college in Texas?

Mr. Kibitz and I went to Baylor in Waco (not pronounced Wacko, FYI) and graduated in 2009.
Do we know each other and didn’t know it?! That’s be awesomely ironic–the true definition of ironic, not Alanis’ song.
