At a baseball game. It’s funny because I shouldn’t have been at that game, was with antoher guy (just a friend, not a date), wasn’t sitting in my ticketed seats, and didn’t sit in the seats near him until the 8th inning. He was sitting in the seats behind me and we started flirting and making silly bets. At the end of the game he tried to give me his number, but I wouldn’t take it and gave him mine instead. I never thought I’d hear from him, but he texted the next day and we ended up texting for a few weeks before we went out on our first date. We’ve been together ever since and I can’t wait to marry him!

We went to the same high school, but he was a year ahead of me. We knew of each other since I was sixteen, but we were never formally introduced. The summer after I graduated high school, a mutual friend told me that he was interested in me so we started talking and we hit it off, so I picked that we met through a friend.

I was looking for that option too! I feel like that’s a more accurate description of how we met, and I think a lot of people meet their SO that way.

We met on okcupid.com! We met in person at a local coffee shop, and finished our date off at the book store…perfect for two geeky caffeine addicts! The date seemed so natural, and we didn’t have to ask all of the awkward first date questions, because we already did that through technology!

work/school. we worked in the same plaza, but if he hadn’t transfered to my high school and been in my gym class those last few weeks of senior year, we would have never started talking or hanging out!

Other. I knew him as a child (we went to the same church) but we never spoke. I always thought he was cute though 🙂
When we were in our 20s, I moved in with a friend. She invited a coworker to our housewarming party and that coworker brought my SO. I was a little buzzed, immediately told him I remember him and that I’d always had a crush on him as a 12 year old and the rest is history 🙂

Kindergarten but we traveled in different circles for most of our time in school…we went to prom together as “friends” and started dating right after graduation.

We met playing ultimate frisbee. Then I joined the rugby team. He already played for them. 3 months later he could finally remember by name. 5 months after that I started to realize I had feelings for him.

At work. He tried to ask me out several times for weeks, I said no. Until I said yes. And now we are getting hitched…

We met at a bar 🙂
But it ended up that we knew so many of the same people that we were bound to meet at some point or other! For example a good friend I went to school with went out with his flatmate (and they are now married).

Oh how I love reading everyone’s stories!
We met online, I had met two guys in person before him (one a total NO, the other a jerk that tried to break my heart after two dates), and I was the only person he met. He was going to let his 1 year subscription run out, and I was nearing the end of the 3 months by the time we met. Chatted for almost 2 months, figured we’d give a date a shot, he bailed on our first plans because he was sick, rescheduled, and that was that. So glad he was willing to meet me in person, because he hadn’t really done anything beyond online chatting before that! A couple months later, he tried to get his brother to sign up!

Highschool! We were friends for a year and then I decided to ask him out in our second-last year.

We met in high school (though we dated in high school, we went our own ways in college. Got back together a couple of years ago!)
