We actually met through my ex. They were friends in high school and all three of us ended up going to the same college. WHen my ex and I broke up, my Fiance and I realized that we were meant for each other. It was hard at first because feelings were hurt but I couldn’t pass up a chance to see what a relationship with him would be like. Needless to say we have been together ever since. It’s crazy how things work out… πŸ™‚

We met on POF as well, it’s true, you don’t expect to meet the man of your dreams, but you sometimes do in the weirdest places.

LOVE all these stories πŸ™‚ So sweet.

We went to rivaling high schools. Never knew eachother but I knew who he WAS (lol) that’s weird. After high school we ran into eachother 100 times at different parties etc. He was always single, I was always taken. He would keep asking me out anyway haha. Timing was never right. Eventually I became single, we started hanging out a lot and the first we hung out solo, I KNEW HE WAS THE ONE. I could feel it with every bone in my body πŸ™‚ It’s so crazy, how things work out πŸ™‚

I met my SO downtown one night trying to meet up with some mutual friends. i was the loud drunk girl, he was the dorky looking dude. It was not love at first sight, but after hanging out with mutual friends every weekend for a few months, I got to know him better and found more to him than his tall dark and dorky looks. We were at a bar celebrating the end of uni exams.  He was a friend of a friend of a friend who happened to be directly in my line of sight.  At this bar they were running a competition – everyone at the door was given a ticket with a number, and they were going to draw a winner later in the night to win a Yagermeister leather jacket.  I was quite merry after a few celebratory beers, and became quite convinced that winning this jacket was very very important.  I set off on a ticket collecting mission.  I swaggered over to SO and struck up a conversation, before flirtatiously asking for his “number” (ie, the ticket number).  Needless to say he thought the cute drunk girl was asking for a very different sort of number, and the rest is history.  I didn’t win the jacket, but I took home the digits of a very nice man πŸ™‚

To this day he maintains I picked him up – but I maintain he was the one who made the first move…

I had just about given up on OKCupid when I got a message from this guy. He didn’t have a picture up so I had no idea he was so cute! That was 9/14/2009, we talked online and on the phone for a couple of weeks and then met on 10/3/09 and although the beginning of the date seemed a bit awkward, we went to one of my favorite spots and took a walk along the water and he stopped, looked into my eyes and kissed me. I fell for him right then and there. We were official on 10/14/09 and I love him more today than I did yesterday πŸ™‚ He confided in me a couple of months ago that he had had a dream that he was on some kind of haunted ship and the thing about the ghost that was haunting it was that this ghost was his father (he died 6 years ago) and once you saw the ghost the next person you saw was the person you’d fall in love with. He saw his father’s ghost and then he saw me (I was working on the boat with him) and then we fell in love. Cute right? well here’s the strange part… he dreamt this about 2 years before he met me. I think his father set us up πŸ™‚

We work together. Actually, we not only work together, but we are the only two economics teachers at the school. Our classrooms are right next to each other! We had common planning periods my first semester and we were able to spend a lot of time together planning our lessons. I was able to get to know him well during those morning meetings and inevitably we’d end up lauhing and joking around. We were both youngish, and unmarried and we started to discover that we had a LOT in common. I was dating a guy in Europe in a long-distance relationship that I was not happy with, so I broke it off after a few weeks and started dating the teacher next door! A few months later we moved in together and a little over a year later we are talking marriage. Everyone at school knows about us, including our students who think it’s the most fascinating thing in the world. We get asked a lot of questions, sometimes embarrassing ones that I ignore. But overall the kids are super excited for us and can’t wait for us to get engaged. We are an awesome team though, and had GREAT test scores for our fall semester classes this past December. We’re super proud of all the hard work we’ve put into our curriculum and lessons. Sometimes dating that guy at work can end up being the best decision of your life! πŸ˜‰

SO attended the gym at the physiotherapy clinic where I worked as a receptionist. After two years of verbal exchanges (which progressed from shyly saying “Hi” to blatantly flirting with each other) and failed attempts at trying to ask each other out (which we only found after we started dating), I plucked up the courage to give him my number. He then proceeded to almost lose the piece of paper with said number, which was luckily picked up and given back to him by another gym member. He asked me out and the rest has been sheer and utter bliss.

I have to say it did create a funny situation at work when we first started dating. Once, I was on the cross trainer and he spanked my arse. We didn’t realize that the personal trainer had seen him do it but since he didn’t realize at the time that we were dating, thought he was sexually harassing the staff lol.

I also met my SO on POF! We always joke that we should do a commercial for them, like those eharmony ads, because we are definitely an online dating success story! πŸ™‚

at a bar through friends. He built a tower of empty glasses then proceeded to knock it  over my back.  He figured if I laughed at him ruining my white shirt (i had blue, red, green & many other color of whatever was left in the glasse) then I was a keeper.

I met my SO in the fire brigade.  He was/is my Captain, and I had known him for 4 years before anything happened between us.  Things had been developing between us and we had been getting closer, confiding in each other more.  More as friends then as brigade members.

Then we were out in the Pumper, just the two of us doing hydrant maintenance.  Talk about sexual tension!!  That aftermoon we became friends with benefits. hahaha.  Talk about complicated!!

Then about 6 months later we were at brigade training at the local dam, I was helping in a team on a 65mm hose at full pressure, there were 5 of us dug into the ground holding this thing.  And I FAINTED.  I fell sideways, I do not remember it at all.  Apparently I sort of stepped sideways and leant on his shoulder.  He thought I was being cute so stepped back, and I dropped the ground.  About 3 people picked me up, he took me, and the only thing I remember was his smell and being against his chest, and him telling me he had me.  And I knew he always would.

EDITED: I forgot the best bit.  The people that dove to catch me were those that had been on the hose with me.  The pressure in it cause it to fling around, and the branch came off.  Water went everywhere.  I really wish I could of witnessed it.  It sounds imperssive.

We had out trials and tribulations, but we pulled it together, and after that night I never doubted that we would.

We’re high school sweethearts who started dating in May of 2008.

We had danced with each other at our school’s semi-formal the day after Valentine’s Day.  However, we didn’t really start talking until he went on the school trip to Italy over March Break, as did a bunch of my friends.  He started hanging out with us after the trip.  We started talking on MSN 3 weeks later (he was 17, I was 16).  Three weeks after that, we started giving each other hints about who we liked, wiating until it was beyond obvious before admiting it was each other.  That was on a Tuesday and we had our first date on Friday… and, well, the rest is history.
