At work. We both worked in a travel plaza (him at the pizza place, me at the coffee shop). We talked once at work, but usually didn’t see each other or work together. Well, about a week after our conversation, he transfered to my high school (with 2 weeks before the school year ended!) He was in my gym class, and being new, I was the only person that he knew, so we talked the whole class.
We started out just as friends, because at the time he was dating someone else. However, they ended up breaking up after achool had ended (she was going to college across the state), and not long after, him and I got together.

I met my SO on my first night at University. We became friends and hung out together a lot in the first week. Our friends kept telling me he liked me but I wasn’t looking for a relationship and wasn’t sure if I liked him.
Well, it only took him 1 week to change my mind and 5 years later here we are! Best decision I’ve ever made!

We actually met on myspace. My SO and I went to the same school but at very different times. He was doing a search for the people who went to the school and found me. He messages me and we started talking about the school.

Classic romantic fairytale….
Pub, Saturday night, drunk.

I kind of hate our meeting story, but it’s what happened, so here it goes.
It was summer, I was 18, and I was out cruising with some friends looking for a party. We went to one-It was a dud. We drove to another-two people there. My dad traveled a lot for work, so I told my friends we could go to my house and drink and watch movies. I get home, and a second later, my dad walks in the door. So, we drove to a Taco Bell parking lot and proceeded to call everyone we knew looking for something to do (The hoops you will go through for alcohol when you are bored and 18-Ugh!). Finally, at 2:00 in the morning, a boy we went to highschool with invited the three of over to his apartment (If I could see my 18 year old self now, I would have told her to go to bed!). Of course, when we got there, the two other paired off with the two boys instantly, and the last one and I were forced to sit awkwardly next to each other. Luckily for me, he was muscular (football player) and tan (summer landscaping job). We had a few drinks, and we got to talking. I rambled on and on like a huge dork about my love of Harry Potter, and he laughed at my jokes. We talked until around 6 in the morning, and He seemed shy, so I knew I was going to have to make a move. Tipsily, I kissed him, and then we fell asleep. My friends and I left probably 45 minutes later, and I gave him my number. He didn’t give me his back, so I left defeated, that he wasn’t at all interested.
A few weeks later, I went off to my freshman year of college, and dated around, but always kept him in the back of my mind. We would flirt via Facebook and text message, but I never thought that anything would happen between us. Finally, six months after we met, we finally had our first date. It wasn’t until our second date that I knew something was special about this one–He drove in a category 3 snow storm because he didn’t want to miss our date! Kind of idiotic, sure, but I knew he liked me, then! This year, we’ll be together for 4 years.

We went to highschool together. We didnt really talk much because I was shy but we had gym class together. I was a sophmore and he was a senior. I never dressed down or participated because I wanted to look cute… LOL but he ended up skipping most of the time since he didnt need the credit. Well I got a D in the class but we started talking and he asked me out a few weeks after the class was over and well 8 years later we are still together. 🙂

At a club, salsa dancing.
I had been taking salsa classes for over a year, and liked to practice by going dancing every weekend. In fact, I was told that I was really good, and many men were in line to dance with me that night. I danced so much that I got really tired and decided to go home. He stopped me as I was leaving and begged me for one last dance. I was too tired and not in the mood, but he begged me so much that I danced with him. Then he wanted another dance, we danced that one too. He asked my name and phone number, and one week later he called me again to go dancing together. We did, and it was a wonderful night that I cannot forget. We’ve been together ever since, say about 14 months.

I had just gone to dinner with my cousin on a Thursday night, and we were driving aimlessly just listening to music and chatting, trying to figure out what we were going to do for the rest of the night. She was scrolling through contacts in her phone, when she decided to call her friend from middle school who she had recently bumped in to, and she said decided to call him to see what he was up to that night. Well…he answered and said he had just gotten off work, and would meet us at TGI Friday’s if we wanted to hang out and while he got some dinner.
I was motioning to her “Noooo” since I was NOT up for meeting some random guy and going to sit in a restaurant after we had just eaten. So, she doesn’t listen to me…We get to Friday’s, and we’re waiting…turns out he went to the Friday’s 2 towns over, not the one we were at. Again, I told her to tell him nevermind, and let’s just go home…she said no. So, he gets there, and I immediately noticed his, um, assets ;)…and we completely hit it off. It was as if my cousin disappeared, and we were on a first date. Cousin dear, didn’t like this…she said she had a stomach ache about an hour into our time there, and we went home. About 15 minutes later, I saw he had sent me a message with his phone number, and friend requested me on MySpace (throwback!!). Looking back, I think my cousin had a crush on him. She was stand offish for the first two years we dated, and gave him a major attitude everytime there was a family event….but it’s been almost 6 years, and she’s moved on. I frequently whine to him “WHERE did I find you?!!!” and he says “Friday’s” 🙂

He was my next door neighbor….that I didn’t know I had. Lol I’m glad I looked out my window one winter and saw him shoveling.. but technically we didnt talk until I randomly saw his face on myspace while I was browsing one day. I decided to message him saying “hey neighbor!” and I guess he had his eyes on me too haha
