Sooo FI (Still so weird to say FI now!) are torn between 2 dates next fall, they are almost exactly 1 month apart and both are available (he checked!) at our dream venue!!! but we are impossibly torn between the two…each would be perfect one would be in september the other in october….weve started picking colors….and i am debating if blue (like a deep royal blue), silver, and like a clover green maybe deeper…..possibly some purple accents….soo while im here would those colors work for fall???
how diid you pick your date….is there any significance to the days you picked….

I think those colors definitely work for fall, and I think you have to just pick a day that feels good in your gut. I was dying to get married in September because I wanted an end-of-summer wedding, and when we couldn’t find a weekend that worked I went for the next best thing *the absolute last day in August*.

Hey, I’m in Kansas too!
We were originally planning a September wedding because we knew we couldn’t do August and September was the next month. Turns out the venue we wanted didn’t have Sept. dates available so we chose the next weekend, October 6th.
Go with September.

…we got married on that day, because we were leaving for Fiji the day after

It was the only weekend availible in the month we wanted at the reception venue we were looking at. I really like our date though 🙂 14-01-12 looks good.

We knew it had to be after Thanksgiving, and since I didn’t want a November wedding, that meant it had to be in December. I figured December 1st would be the easiest day for him to remember for an anniversary, and because it was just the two of us, we didn’t have to worry that it was in the middle of the week.

We married on our 1-year anniversary! So, it was a special day for us.. 🙂

Convenience. We’re long distance and want to apply for visas and have me move as soon as possible. I am graduating in December. We are getting married in January. No significance to the date other than that!

thanks everyone…both days are available….and if we pick in the next month we should get either day we want since we are looking at sept, oct 2014….im really leaning towards september or very early october….since we will marry in nebraska…..im very concerned about weather soo i nixed the november date….i never thought picking a date would be this hard….
neither date is significant to us….just weekends they have available in the season we wanted…le-sigh……hmmm….maybe we will throw darts….i really do like the september idea though! since itll be more fall ish….but still warm since we *could* do the wedding on their gorgeous court yard or indoors….hmmmm…..

Well we got engaged in December and I’ve always dreamed of a summer wedding. We didn’t want to wait until 2014 so 2013 it is. Then we decided August because the weather is usually the best for Vancouver. The 31st just sounded perfect so we went for it!

@kansas_nurse: we got married 20 days after we got engaged. We mainly picked it around my step kids spring break.

We picked Valentine’s Day because I like the 14/14 combo, it’s kind of our anniversary and it ended up being a Friday so that worked out great. If it had been any other day than Friday or Saturday we would have done something else. December 31, 2013 was also a contender.

We wanted to get married in August since that is the month we met in and got engaged in. 11 is also my husbands lucky number so that was that. We figured out our date a day after we got engaged lol

I knew I wanted a winter wedding before being engaged. We discussed not being engaged for more than six months. When we got engaged our options were a a short 3.5 month engagement or a 16 month engagement. So we looked at venues we liked and settled on Dec 29th, which gave us time to honeymoon over New Years. We are both teachers so it worked good for our holiday schedule.
