My Fiance and I picked ours before I even realized the true meaning behind it. At first we picked, 7-7 because we loved the number. I thought about it, and the first night we got together was Nov. 7th… so I realized it had a lot more meaning than I thought. So I am just curious, how did you pick your actual wedding date?

It was the only June sat the venue had, haha so romantic I know!

we picked it based off our schedules…the summer is the field season for my future Darling Husband so he picked when he would be the least busy. Yeah romantic I know. I want to get married on Oct 4 2013 because we met on oct 4th 2008, but we do not want to wait that long. 🙂

We were hoping for a september date just because it was good timing for everything else going on in our lives at the time but there were no openings so we ended up choosing October 7th, 2012. My fiance is a former cop and about a week after we chose it he told me that 10-7, in cop talk, means unavailable or out of service! Which I think is pretty great since after our wedding we are unavailable or out of service in the dating game!

Originally we were going to get married on April 21st. We would have shared an anniversary with my best friend’s parents. That would have been nice since her father passed away after a long battle of cancer and he was the closest thing I had to a father for a long time.
We had to push the date back for financial reasons though so now we will be getting married in August. Our new date is the only one in the month of August that we can do between our venue being available and some of our friends starting up Grad School.

@FloretteLiz: I am so sorry about your friends dad, I know how hard it is loosing a dad, mine passed almost 3 years ago. ((HUGS)) I just wanted to let you know, I love your date and I am sure it will be just as special, and he will be there shining down on you that day : )
I love all the stories with the dates, keep them coming!!

We had to do summer due to school, and May was full, and June was the coolest month. I do like the date though! 6 x 2 = 12!

I wanted to get married 11-11-11, but due to finances, it go pushed back a couple years. Since that wasn’t available, I didn’t care about the actual date. We wanted a month all to ourselves- meaning nobody in our immediate families has a birthday or anniversary. That took out February, April, May, June, July, October, and November. January is too cold, March is the beginning of tax season [his mom is an accountant and works Saturdays until after April 15th], August would be FAR too hot in Alabama, and December just screams christmas to us [and it’s cold]. September it was! I picked the 21st because of this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xycnv87N_BU

This sounds really lame, considering everyone else has such a great story as to why they chose their day.
First, my Fiance is really into outdoors stuff…. hunting/fishing type guy. Well he loves to fish in the summer and fall and didn’t want a day in the summer as it might conflict with his fishing. So he gave me two weeks in September when we could have our wedding as it was before the fall bass fishing got really good (per him). Since I have been hoping to get married sooner rather than later (after 6 years of being together) I chose the first weekend he gave me in September.
So I guess the fish chose my date, lol

@Birdee106: I’m the exact opposite: We wanted October but the church was completely booked, so we got the last Sat. in Sept., which ended up being the best weather of any of the days we could have wanted!

We wanted to get married on our anniversary, which wasn’t a weekend so we went to city hall. We had our “wedding” the following Saturday. I think just about everyone knew we’d gotten legally married a few days prior and no one seemed to care.

We first picked possible months we liked (mostly because of weather and no other events happening (b’days, etc). Then, we looked at Saturdays…. and the one we ended up with was the numeric date of our first date (different month) so we went with that!
ETA: the date we ended up with was different than our original date, since our venue was booked (or original date has zero meaning – I figured it would eventually have meaning, once we got married on that date!) 🙂
