My Fiance and I picked ours before I even realized the true meaning behind it. At first we picked, 7-7 because we loved the number. I thought about it, and the first night we got together was Nov. 7th… so I realized it had a lot more meaning than I thought. So I am just curious, how did you pick your actual wedding date?

8-11 is the day we started working together. The working together part was short lived, but at least the relationship survived

It was the next long weekend.

- Wedding: July 2012 - Baltimore Museum of Industry
We had limited options for our favorite venue, since we wanted short engagement. He proposed on Friday January 13th, and Friday July 13th was available, and we both liked keeping it the 13th- will make it easy for him to remember our anniversary!

It was the only fall date our venue had!

We picked ours based on when schedules lined up (ours, our parents, sort of our siblings) and available dates at venues we liked.

we picked June as the month becasue it’s still a little before the tourists hit Maine (july and August is too crazy) and that month also didnt conflict with my sisters college schedule.
As for the date, we looked at historical weather data, and decided this was the weekend that it rained les often. I know its silly but I love the odds

We originally wanted October, not realizing that in our area October dates are gone 15 months in advance… Since we didn’t start looking at venues until December we were left with options in September and November. September is a busy birthday month between both of our families, so we begrudgingly pushed to November. It ended up being perfect though because the weather was miserable pretty much throughout September & October, but we ended up with a perfectly clear & crisp November day.

My 9 y.o. son helped my fiance pick out my e-ring in early January, 2012 and he was there for the proposal January 27, 2012. Immediately after the hugging and kissing my son wanted to know when “it” would happen. The engagement was a surprise to me but my fiance got out the calendar out and they picked June 9, 2012 within minutes. I made sure it would work with my little nephew’s chemo schedule and then we started looking for a venue that would work that date!!

We knew we wanted October and since it was a Destination Wedding wedding and people were traveling it really didn’t need to be a weekend so we chose…… 10/11/12 b/c we thought it would be cool and def easy to remember!

DH wanted a long weekend, so that we could do a wedding weekend thing where people could take it easy getting into and out of town. So there it was, Sunday 9-4-11 last year! 🙂

I wanted the wedding to happen in 2012 but it had to late in the year so we could scrape the money together (no debt for this wedding!)
My parents and sister were all married in December (18th and 22nd) so I loved the December idea, plus it gives the families an excuse to get together around Xmas. I chose the 15th since that Saturday should be before the xmas rush as far as airfares and hotels are concerned.

Went a little like this:
September is cool…I get days off for Labor Day…Labor Day?…Ok…Room not available…What about the next weekend?…That works.
Boom. Done. 😉

We knew we wanted to get married on a Sunday in August…so we just picked whatever Sunday we wanted in that month – DH wanted 8/14/11, and I wanted 8/21/11…we went with 8/21 since I thought the numbers “looked better together than 8/14.” Haha, sounds stupid, ik!!
Oh, and we wanted August because we felt July would be too hot for us, and September would be too cold. So August was juuuuuuuuuuuust right 🙂
