We knew we wanted it to be in the fall, and we liked the idea of September. So we found our venue that we wanted and then asked them what they had available. They actually had lots of availability, but there was one particular day that they suggested. We’re getting married next to an opera house, so we ended up going with the one day out of the whole month that they didn’t have a show going on, so there wouldn’t be lots of crowding in the area. So that was how we narrowed it down 🙂

Yeah, Mahopac is in a higher elevation and on a small mountain so it’s always a few degrees cooler…but I’m going to say it’s still going to be HOT!

I wanted a fall wedding. October was soooo cliche in our family and friends for weddings so I picked the earliest saturday in november. I figure it was still early enough to still have the fall foilage and the sunny weather. It turns out the weather in october was horrible and the weather on our wedding day was perfect. not a cloud in the sky and the leaves were still on the trees. it was absolutely perfect!

we fell in love with the venue and booked the only available date they had left in 2012

Awesome!!! I hope it’s like that for our wedding day…the weather is so unpredictable anyways…

We didn’t really want an engagement of more than a year and due to church rules it couldn’t be less than six months away. So we ended up with the last Saturday the venue had available which was October 31st, Halloween, not what I wanted but we made it work.

We couldn’t agree on a date, for months. We were a year apart, so finally I got him to meet me in the middle.

Well ours is kind of silly. We both have November birthdays, and May is six months from November. May just sort of stuck for me. And it was this May or next May. This May sounded daunting, because we got engaged in November of 2011.
I picked the 18th because the next weekend was Memorial Day, and the weekend before is Mother’s Day.

I wanted a fall wedding, but we got engaged in December, which would have given me less than a year to plan an October wedding from out of states..so I passed. The venue we found (and loved) only allowed large weddings on Saturdays during peak wedding season. The lady we talked to asked the owner if there was any way we would be allowed to have our, much smaller, wedding on a Sat. and he agreed we could if it was out of season. Feb 23rd was born! lol I pushed it back as far as possible out of winter! The H2B really wanted it to be on the 17th of a month, so we could keep our anniversary date semi the same, but it didn’t work out…oh well, ya win some, ya lose some!

We knew 100% we wanted an October wedding even if it meant waiting another year. My pasor had only one weekend available in October, which was the 13th and that’s what we went with.

June was the first month that we were able to book a Saturday at the venue I wanted that was not on a holiday weekend. We booked it in August 2011 too! We could have had any June date besides 6/9/12 which is the date I thought looked best.
I didnt like 6/2 becuase it was too close to Memorial Day Weekend, 6/16 was Father’s Day weekend and I didnt like the look of 6/30. I love 2s so 6/23/12 is perfect!

growing up – i always wanted to get married in august. i thought it was just a beautiful month.
i always make wishes at 11:11 <3 something corporate.
one random day in feburary – my now Fiance but just my boyfriend at that time, texted me saying “is 8.11.12 soon enough?!” so before we were engaged – we knew that was our date!

Ours is Valentine’s day 2014. It’s our anniversary of our first official date, and it will be a Friday so it was perfect!

I wanted to get married in the same month our anniversary was already in. We picked 5-4-13 because it sounded good and it wasn’t Mother’s Day or Memorial Day weekend.
