I spent hours and hours and hours going through pics of receptions online. I found I really liked the way hotpink/fuchia napkind poped off a black tablecloth. My colors are mainly black and white with SOME fuchia accents. I started a picture folder and copied my favorite inspirational pics into it, then i would review every 3 weeks or so, and then delete what I didnt want. I named the pics things like “how i want to wrap the favors” “silver accent for favors” “tablecloth for dessert table” etc.

I have one signature color, so that was a no-brainer for us. I just added black to it and there you have it!

I also browsed the ole wedding blogs and more recently pinterest for ideas. Pics really do help to visualize.

I started with my venue, as I didn’t want to choose colors that would clash or look garish with it. Then I thought about the feel and vision Mr. LK and I has established for the day, and what colors would help us achieve that. And I ended by looking in my own closet and jewelry chest. Black, grey, purple, and silver dominate, so clearly those are colors I feel comfortable with. Color pallette done. Then i looked for inspiration images and used polyvore (pinterest works too) to pull everything together and make sure it had a cohesive look and feel.

good color inspiration:
