We ordered our flowers unassembled from a local florist, and stuck to more common flowers (hydrangeas and roses). We assembled everything the morning before the wedding. I think our total bill with supplies was $250.

We are saving about $100 by not getting the groomsmen/dads/ring bearers boutineers. We are having them wear the cloth in the tux pocket instead. Only fi will have on a bout, plus grandpas, and flowers for the mom’s, host/hostess, and reader. Plus the bridesmaids and me of course… so everyone except those that will be in a tux, but it still adds up so save us some cash 🙂

I met with my florist at my venue, so she knew exactly what she was working with. I showed her my inspiration pictures, so she knew the look I wanted. Then I told her my budget, what I needed, and asked what she could do. She told me her ideas on how she thought she could make my vision a reality and stay in my budget. I really liked her ideas, and I put my complete trust in her to make my wedding reception beautiful. She did a beautiful job, and I was thrilled.
I think the secret to getting what you want at a good price is to find a talented florist you can trust. Don’t insist on specific flowers, allow the florist to make the choice of flowers that will create your vision at the price you can afford. A talented florist can make your vision come true within your budget. You just have to let them be creative.

I used pins for the groom, groomsmen, mothers, grandmothers. Saved a ton of money since they were only a couple dollars each. I bought fake flowers bouquets from a local florist. Walked in and told her my budget and she made it work. I am selling the flowers and noticed you are from Boston. I am in central MA and just had my wedding. Please look at my other posting and see if there is any other items you might need, I will practically give it to you to get some space back in my house! http://classifieds.weddingbee.com/topic/red-black-silver-fall-wedding-decor
