At the beginning of the ceremony he asked if we took eachother to be our husband/wife (it was worded far more eloquently than that!) and we said “I do”.  Then, later in the ceremony, the officiant said the vows we had chosen and we repeated after him.

Our officiant told us we have to memorize them, and that we can write our own…got to get on that!

Definitely repeated after the officiant, thank goodness! I had trouble remembering them even then lol He had his microphone turned off though so all any of the guests could hear was us.

Ugh he wants us to write them. I am an English major and can write a lot really well but not so great with my emotions!  I would be so nervous that they would come off cheesy.
