1. How many weeks before the wedding did you send out your invites?  12 weeks

2. How many days/weeks was it in between people recieving the invite and the rsvp deadline?  4 weeks

3 How many weeks before the wedding was the rsvp deadline?  8 weeks as we have to let the venue know of final numbers 6 weeks before the wedding date.

1. How many weeks before the wedding did you send out your invites? We’re sending at 12 weeks (3 mos) before.  May wait until 10-11 weeks though!

2. How many days/weeks was it in between people recieving the invite and the rsvp deadline?  RSVP deadline is June 1, so about 2 months

3 How many weeks before the wedding was the rsvp deadline?  4 weeks and 1 day.  I have a lot of DIY that requires guest attendance names that I’d rather have early on before the wedding!

  • Wedding: April 2011

My invites were sent out in March (around the 7th, and a little earlier for Out of Town guests), my RSVP date is April 30th and my wedding is May 22nd. So…

1. How many weeks before the wedding did you send out your invites? Just shy of 11 weeks.

2. How many days/weeks was it in between people recieving the invite and the rsvp deadline? 7 weeks and 5 days

3 How many weeks before the wedding was the rsvp deadline? A little over three.

More info: We chose April 30th because it’s a couple of weeks before our final guests counts are due to our venue, and because we are only inviting 50 guests (so if we do have to call people who have not RSVPed, we won’t have to call too many people). I also chose it because it’s the last day of the month, so they have to RSVP during April, vs May 1st, because then that gets into the month of May. I think people forget the exact date they need to RSVP by, so I wanted them thinking April opposed to May.

So if I were you (of course, depending on how many people you’re inviting, when you’re sending out the invitations and when your caterer needs the final numbers), I would choose May 31st.

ETA: Then that gives you all of June to contact people who didn’t get their RSVP cards in, give your venue the final guest count, and finalize seating arrangements, etc.

1. How many weeks before the wedding did you send out your invites? We just sent ours this morning, so about 11 weeks before the wedding.

2. How many days/weeks was it in between people recieving the invite and the rsvp deadline?  Probably about 6-7 weeks depending on when they get it.

3 How many weeks before the wedding was the rsvp deadline?  About 4 weeks!  So soon – it’s coming up quick!

1. How many weeks before the wedding did you send out your invites?

We’ll be sending ours out 8 weeks before.

2. How many days/weeks was it in between people recieving the invite and the rsvp deadline?

I haven’t sent them yet, but it will be 6 weeks.

3 How many weeks before the wedding was the rsvp deadline?

2 weeks – seems close, but we don’t have many vendors that need an exact count. (just the rental company for chairs.)

1. How many weeks before the wedding did you send out your invites?

I sent the invites out at the 7.5 weeks out mark.  I wanted 8 weeks, but had issues with postage

2. How many days/weeks was it in between people recieving the invite and the rsvp deadline?

People had/have a little over 4 weeks between receiving the invitation and the RSVP date.

3 How many weeks before the wedding was the rsvp deadline?

There are three weeks between the RSVP deadline and the wedding.  I figure that’s plenty of time for me to call the straglers and still get a head count to the caterer.

Ultimately though, I picked the date (April 15th) because I figured it would stick in people’s mind.

We mailed out 10 weeks out

RSVP date was 6 weeks out

and we made calls 4 weeks out

I knew that I’d go crazy trying to order linens and such, having to cut it close waiting till just before the wedding to get a final count so I set ours early and decided to make our calls early too =)

We sent ours out 12 weeks in advance with a 1 month prior RSVP deadline.  Based on how quickly we got some of the RSVP’s, it was about 2 months.  I started making calls and visiting people about a week after the RSVP deadline.

Wedding: Oct 22.
Invites will be sent out late July/early August
RVSP is 16th of Sept.

I wanted a buffer on both ends because we’re sending them out during the summer (i.e; some people might be on vacation & not get it right away). On the other end, I don’t want to be bugging people for their RSVPs right before the date, as well as our venue requires a final count submitted a week before the date.

1. How many weeks before the wedding did you send out your invites?
11 to 13.
2. How many days/weeks was it in between people recieving the invite and the rsvp deadline?
7.
3 How many weeks before the wedding was the rsvp deadline?
Roughly 5.

hmmm….now I’m thinking that’s too long…..thoughts?

Wedding:  June 4th

Invites out: April 2nd (9 weeks out)

RSVP Due: May 14th (3 weeks out)

That should give me a week to call stragglers and I dont need a final count until a week out, and even then, I can add to the count up to 8 hours before the reception!  🙂
