We finally get to find out our baby’s gender in a couple of weeks, YAY! Now, we are trying to decide how we want to tell them. We thought about doing it on Turkey day since we find out a few days before, but my husband works that day and I want him there when we tell people. So, how did you tell your family?

Call me an idiot, but your family already knows you’re pregnant, right? If so, I’d just be like “guess what, it’s a XYZ!”. Personally I don’t get the whole big deal about the sex since a lot of people don’t even find out.

i had a friend who baked a cake dyed blue, then covered the whole thing in white icing, so the gender was revealed when they cut the cake (obv if it was a girl they wouldve done pink cake). ithought it was kinda a cute idea! (and might work well for thanksgiving!)

I felt too sick at that point to be creative. Mostlt I was like, “it’s a girl, now excuse me while I go hurl”. 🙂

We called our respective moms the minute we got outside the u/s lab, sent a text to our sibs and a few close friends and emailed/facebooked the rest. It was super exciting for us to find out, but not worth making a huge hoopla over… plus there was no way we could keep it a secret until the next time we saw everyone together.

We told everyone the gender- but not the name. That remained a surprise until the birth. Next pregnancy I want to not find out the gender. I really like Nado’s idea about the cake- that is really cute.
