How did or are you going to tell him when you get pregnant? We are TTC and I won’t tell him when I take the test so that I can surprise him in a cool way…
I have a couple ideas but I want to make it really fun for him, what did or will you do to tell him (for those of you who aren’t going to have him with you when you pee on that stick)?

I’m planning on the two of us going out to a restaurant and ordering two entrees for myself (one of them would obviously have to make good leftovers- no wasting money with a kid on the way!). This obviously never happens, so when he asks about it I’ll tell him that I need to start eating for two.

I keep playing with different ideas….fathers day card (whether its fathers day or not) writing it out somehow in his favorite food dish, getting a tshirt made…
I dont know, i just want to make it really cool! I know itd be really cool waiting for the stick to turn positive together but i really want to find out on my own and tell him myself.

Even though it’s only been a little unde 5 months it’s been such a journey. I want him there when I take the test and I know he wants to be there as well.
To us that’s an important moment to share.
I’m def thinking of cute ways to share with the parentos though! They all involve some gift with FaceTime us first before opening gift!

My plan has always been to give him a present that’s a little onsie with his favorite sports team on it.

Oh the onesie is a cute idea, love it! Unfortunately , our teams are rivals and i don’t want to give him his team!
@regberadaisy – yeah that will be a pretty awesome moment to share together!

I had planned on telling my husband with a sports team onesie too – but I was so shocked when I took the test I ran up to him with the stick shaking and just handed it to him. He said by the way I was calling his name he thought I had cut my arm off or something 🙂 Worked out for us in the end though!

Still TTC, but I bought a Rockabye Baby CD of his fave band and will play it for him.

I made a powerpoint/slideshow on the computer. It had various pictures of different times in our relationship. Including pictures of our niece and nephew with speech bubbles saying “I want another cousin!”. I also put pictures of his parents with speech bubbles saying “We want to be Grandparents”. At the end I had one of my favourite pictures of him, and taped my voice over the kids laughter that was playing throughout the slideshow that said “Congratulations, you’re going to be a daddy!”. It was so much fun to make, plus the slideshow will forever be on our computer. The good thing is that my husband had just bought me a computer for Christmas, so when I told him I wanted him to check something out on our computer he wasn’t in the least bit suspicious. (I found out a told him on New Years Day).
No matter what you do, or how you tell your Darling Husband or SI it will be special! Have fun with it:)

I gave my Darling Husband a bib that said “I love Daddy!” I put it in a box along with photos of my positive PG tests. He was super confused and surprised and VERY happy!
Have fun telling him!

I had so many great ideas! And I got the BFP, and put the test on my dresser (this was after he ewnt to work) then took the dog to Central Park for a walk. Well he came home mid day to surprise me just to hang out, and he saw this test. Bummer lol. But he did think it was negative, and he texted me “not pregnant?” so I ignored it. When I got home I just told him it was positive. Ruined the surprise. but it was still exciting lol

@regberadaisy: My husband was right there when I took the test with Wombat. He even held it while it was figuring out whether it was positive or negative. He’s the one who told me we were pregnant again. With Moose, he was out of town, so I tested without him and then called him. He was so upset, but we weren’t going to see each other for over a week and I was going to my sister’s Masters graduation.

We’re not officially trying yet, but we’re not trying not to, so I’ve still tried to come up with a few ideas. Funny thing is, he used to say he’d want to be there with me, but now he wants to be surprised.
I love the idea of giving him a onsie with his team on it! I think I’ll use that. And I think I’ll include a fathers day card as well. Good thing thats next month and I can buy one before we need one!
