I rolled my dress up and placed in into a duffel bag.  I hung it up after the flight and it was fine, no steaming neccessary…. but if it did need steaming I was going to just hang it up in my parents room while my mom/dad took hot showers.

The place I’m getting my dress sells carry on size fold up garment bags, so that’s what I’ll be using.

I found this destination wedding kit online and was considering using it for my air travel. I was already going to buy a muslin bag from this company for hanging in the closet until we’re on our way. Any thoughts on the kit? any experience packing it this way?

My friend just got married in her home town and lives in a different country and got her dress there.  She carried it on and the flight attendants were nice enough to let her hang it in the closet (and her dress have a HUGE skirt).  I’m sure no airline will lay out an accommodation policy for brides because then they have to do it, but what flight attendant will say no to helping a bride get her dress to the wedding?  My friend had no problems, but she didn’t get married in a popular location or season (it was a winter wedding in her small little hometown).
