@HelleCat:  Go ahead!  I actually got the idea off an episode of 4 weddings and then let the priest come up with the wording ๐Ÿ™‚

@nzgirl:  I love that too. It’s a neat thing to do because the engagement ring is forgotten, almost in the way. Too late for me to use it, but I’ll have to remember to suggest it to my daughters…

we had my engagement ring made to fit on my right hand so I wore it on the right hand for the whole ceremony.

@nzgirl:  As soon as I read this I emailed my celebrant straight away to include it in our ceremony! I love it so THANK YOU! ๐Ÿ™‚

And I agree with @paula1248 that the engagement ring is forgotten, so I think that is so special!

A long day of flying and jetlag had completely kicked my ass, and my fingers were so awoken, there was no way I was squeezing my ring on my right hand. So Elvis held on to it till the ceremony was over. He looked trustworthy enough ๐Ÿ™‚

I gave my ring to my mum (who walked me down the aisle) and she gave it back to me after all the hugs and kisses were done straight after the ceremony and before all the family/bridal party photos were taken ๐Ÿ™‚

Oddly enough thou in all those pictures my rings will be “backwards” because I preferred my rings e-ring first and then wedding band on top… But the day after the wedding I switched them to the “right” way (wedding band closest to the heart) because they feel more comfortable that way and actually look better to me now hehehe – so funny because I was adamant I liked them the “wrong” way ๐Ÿ™‚

I wore mine on my right hand, and switched them after the ceremony was over.

I was planning on moving it to my ring hand, and I forgot, so I moved it to my right hand at the last minute before he put my wedding band on.

@nzgirl:  Cute. My wording was:

“Just as wedding rings are symbols of marriage, the engagement ring is a symbol of promise and intention. Now the intention is realized and the promise fulfilled. Please place the engagement ring on (my name)’s finger over her wedding band to symbolize that the love that brought you together will always protect and sustain your marriage.”

I got the idea from another bee here named thewheelsonthebus, but I found the wording elsewhere online.
