My first baby I was 38+3. Labour started whilst I was at the stables with my horse but it wasn’t until a few hours later when my waters broke that I went to the hospital. He was born 7 hours later and was a natural water birth.

2nd baby was at 38+5! I’d been having Braxton hicks for weeks but on this day they didn’t go away so I left for the hospital at 1am. When I got there I was only 2cm dilated and they wanted to send me home! I said No and an hr and a half later I was 6cm and he was born at 6.54am that morning, another natural labour :).

I knew they were both coming early! Everyone said Baby comes when baby comes but I know my own body and I was right :p.

Good luck for this exciting time!!

I’ve had one delivery, and am pregnant again now. I had my first at 37 weeks 2 days. I woke up at about 4:45 am with “cramps” which after I started timing them realized they were in a regular pattern, getting closer together, etc, so were actually true contractions. My water broke about 4 hours later, but I was still a little in denial so I went to my OB office to get checked before heading to the hospital. (The baby was very low and engaged in the pelvis so there wasn’t a lot of fluid when the water broke.) My son was born after about 17 hours of labor.

Everyone told me that I should expect to go past the due date since it was my first, but I just KNEW he was going to come early, and I was right. Luckily he didn’t have any complications for being on the early side. I’m hoping I make it to 40 weeks this time, because I want a May baby instead of April, haha.

Gosh I forgot to say… with the 2nd baby my water didn’t break until delivery! It broke and he dropped and arrived in the space of 3 minutes. It’s rare but does happen apparently!

Ten days overdue. I’d just agreed to go to a Beltane ritual with my in laws since I was clearly going to be pregnant forever. Just as I was making peace with that, my water broke at 5:55am. Baby boy was born at 2:38am the next morning. I did NOT get to go to the ritual then or for the next three years.

I was pretty happy he was overdue because I wanted a Taurus baby rather than an Aries.

It’s mildly amusing to me that this post is not even close to the most California sounding thing I’ve said today.

I was put on bed rest at 34w6d. I thought I had SO much time…Ha! I wasn’t working or anything and at home all day and hadn’t done any baby laundry yet so I decided to tackle that, I was 36w5d at this point. Had a girlfriend over for dinner while my husband worked the night shift and about an hour after she left, I bent over to pick up one of the dogs and felt a gush. Not huge, but definitely a gush. I thought I peed myself but then remembered I had just gone to the bathroom so I paced and paced and it happened again! I knew I had to go to the hospital & of course, nothing packed or ready. My body wasn’t ready to labor at all, I was in the hospital 33 hours before I opted for a c-section at exactly 37 weeks 🙂

I had a c-section at 42+2 weeks after a failed induction, so I guess my labour never really started.

with a bang… litrally pressure build up from unknown at the time complications caused my waters to actually explode at 36 weeks – we werent ready at all, everyone said you always go over with you first and thats just not true

with my second I was induced 2 weeks after he passed because my body wasnt reacting, I slept through the labour mostly – maybe it physically hurt less because he was still small

I was induced at 41 weeks. My daughter wasn’t ready to come out. =) I wish I would have gone into labor on my own though, just to experience it that way.

I was induced at 41 weeks, so I didn’t go into labor on my own.  I am 36 weeks now hoping to go into labor sometime after 40 weeks on my own!  I don’t have any complications so if I don’t go on my own I’m guessing I would be looking at another 41 week induction.

I was scheduled to be induced at 6 pm at 40+1 because I had gestational diabetes but when I called the hospital there were no beds available. About an hour or so later I started contracting & I finally went to the hospital at 4 am & ended up being 7 cm dilated already! I got an epidural at 6 am, was fully dilated at 1 pm, & gave birth at 1:42 pm.

My water broke at 36+6! 29 long hours later, was born at exactly 37 weeks. I was very much expecting him to come late like all the other first babies, but he wanted out!

My water broke at 39+5. My contractions never started so I was given pitocin. I never made it past 7 cm after over 24 hours on pitocin so I had a c-section 37 hours after my water broke.
