I let all of my bridesmaids choose their own dresses in navy blue. They all just happened to be the same length (knee) but Maid/Matron of Honor had a little bit of bling on her’s. It was not planned that way but I was happy that she had a little something extra. 🙂 Maybe something like different jewelry, or hair piece or have her flowers be somehow different (or bigger?)

Speaking of flowers we had a Catholic wedding and as part of that put flowers on the Mary alter, Maid/Matron of Honor carried both her bouquet and the extra one up the aisle so in some pictures her flowers are bigger too.

I’m not having her stand out, but I can think of a few ideas:

– A sash of a complementary color for the Maid/Matron of Honor

– Different flowers

– Some sort of special headband

– Shoes that stand out in some way

She’s going to stand out as your Maid/Matron of Honor, being closest to you, etc. As someone who was one of “the other bridesmaids” in a wedding a few weeks ago, there are TONS of opportunities where the rest of your girls will be ranked, walking in order, told they’re not the Maid/Matron of Honor. I don’t think a Maid/Matron of Honor needs to stand out in attire.

Mine wore a belt that went with her dress.

all of my girls have different style dresses in the same color.  I am planning on having her have a special piece of jewelry or slightly bigger bouquet. her dress is also strapless and everyone else’s have some sort of straps.

I don’t really get why the Maid/Matron of Honor should stand out from the other bridesmaids.  As hisprettygirl said, it’s obvious who the Maid/Matron of Honor is, because she is with you the most on the day of.  In my mind, the only two people who should stand out are the bride and the groom.
