I was 32 and took us 12 cycles. Pretty sure the length of time was due to issues with Fiance though. A few friends 35+ fell within a few months. One was 38 and two 39.

Good luck xx

I’m 32, been trying for 2 years.  This is our 24th cycle.  All testing for both of us is normal.  No luck at all.

I am turning 33 in a couple of months and we are going to TTC immediately after getting married in July. My OBGYN said I just need to be off BCP for one month before. I already went off, but mostly because I messed up my pills on vacation and because I have a blood disorder that required some blood work. Both of our families are very fertile (aside from my twin, who had some trouble TTC her second), so we are hoping it isn’t a big issue. He is one of 4, I’m one of 5, my mom’s one of 9, my dad’s one of 7, and his mom is one of 7.  We are slightly more likely to have twins considering my great aunt had them, I’m a fraternal, and his aunt and uncle are twins. I’m still worried though! Hoping it all goes smoothly for you.

missbtomrsd:  do you know if your families fertility has an affect on your own? I tried to look it up one day but couldn’t find it anywhere on the internet. My family is sooo fertile, i’m talking way back generations including all cousins etc. i’m the only unlucky black sheep with recurrent miscarriage. My Fertility Specialist did ask if there was family history of troubles so maybe it does matter.

I am 32 and will be 33 when our baby is born – we conceived the second cycle off bcp and felt very lucky.

I hope your TTC journey is smooth and short!

I started trying for my second at 34 and after 11 months got my first bfp.( This was the first month after my HSG). This resulted in an early loss and I am still trying after 12 long months. But everyone is different. The doctors scare a lot about the age but fertility issues can happen anytime. Good luck

catlady01:  I don’t know, as this is me right now.

I’m 34, and will be 35 in a couple weeks. DH will be 37 in a couple weeks, as well. I stopped BC in September, ad we had bad timing September and October. November was the first with good timing. This month, we were perfect in our timing and I’m now in the TWW, although had pre-AF symptoms this weekend and mytemp dropped .4 this morning… so I don’t have my hopes up. FF wants me to wait to test until tomorrow, and I took a test yesterday that was BFN.

If we haven’t conceived by April, I go in for my yearly and will speak with my doctor (used to be an OBGYN, now is just family practice) then. That will be 5-6 months after we first had great timing. And at our age, we can’t wait.

I was 34 when we started trying for our first, and we were successful on the third cycle trying. Like you, I was worried about my ability to conceive (and especially after quitting the pill after 12+ years), so I started temping and charting almost right away so I could BD at the best time and be able to spot any problems with my cycle. It gave me a lot of peace of mind because I wasn’t in the dark as to what my body was doing. It also helped me match the physical symptoms with key events in my cycle so I could be more attuned to what was going on.

Our second was also conceived on our third try, and I will be 37 when he arrives this spring.

Best of luck!

depends on so many things.

i have a friend who at 40 had no problem getting pregnant.  i was 32 when i started to TTC and it took me until i was 34 with IVF to be successful.

I’m 35 and my husband and I have been actively trying to get pregnant since the end of November. I’m on my third cycle and just started using Preseed. I’m not worried yet since it’s only been a couple of months, but I do hope it happens very soon. Hubby and I are flying to MA in July to visit his family and I’d like to be around 6 months along when we go.

catlady01:  Hi I am 34, soon to be 35 in just under 2 months. We started trying the month of our wedding in June 2015 (I was 34). I saw my OBGYN in November after 6 months of trying. We have done several tests and are seeing a specialist this week. Good for you for getting off BC earlier, I didn’t stop until May and I wish I’d stopped earlier to get to know my body. I feel it took almost 6 months for my body/cycle to figure itself out. I don’t want to scare you, but after trying for 6 mo. see a doctor if nothing has happened yet.
