They make me dry as the sahara down there and kill my sex drive.

@OnceUponATime:  Every hormonal birth control option I’ve ever tried, including the Mirena which is super super low hormone, gives me uncontrollable 24/7 migraines from hell that end me in the hospital loaded up on IV drugs. Needless to say, I’m not a fan.

I’m actually kind of freaking the EFF out about how we’re going to space our children out because I’m 8 months pregnant and I have NO IDEA what to do once the baby ain’t in the oven anymore…

The only effect I’ve noticed is that I’m more emotional…but that could just be because I’m older.

When I am on BC my periods are better – and while ON them that is the only change I notice.  Since I’ve been on them, there were two or three times where I missed a month due to not being able to pick them up and when I moved across the country I couldn’t get a new OB/GYN in time. Anyway, my acne went CRAZY (and I normally don’t have any!), it was awful, and painful.

I just got two cup sizes bigger, I didn’t really know BC had many side effects. I’ve been on it about 4 years.

I finally found a pill that give me no side effects (Microgestin 1.5/30). My period lasts about a day in a half (freakin’ fantastic). I was on Sprintec for a few years and it made my life a living hell. I would cry at least 4x a week, moods were unstable, etc. I thought I was emotional because of what I was going through at the time. I finally switched when I started having suicidal thoughts. It scared the hell out of me.

Kill my sex drive. I think I was crankier when I first started them. But it’s great protection and it makes that time of the month like a walk in the park compared to what it’s like not on the pill.

    Totally worth it.

I’ve been on it for a long time, and for more than a year before I was sexually active. So I am not sure how it affected my sex drive, if it did at all.

As far as weight goes, I’ve noticed no difference.

As far as acne goes, there is not a significant difference. I break out a bit before my period, but I think I always have.

I do feel slightly more emotional on it. I get snappy a week before my period, and I don’t remember being so irritable before.

I have been on different pills, the patch, the ring and now Mirena.  They all control my acne but all the previous ones really affected my libido.  I have never had problems with my weight or emotions on the pill.

I have to be on BC because of endometriosis so the reduction in pain and possible surgery makes the side effects of Mirena worth it.

Amazing things.  I’ve been on them too long to know about my libido and weight is difficult too as I was put on medication around the same time that made me gain weight plus I was still growing.

Better skin, fewer flareups of various things including an autoimmune disorder, allergies, and migraines, not bleeding at least 50% of the time, less pain, better mood.

@MrsSweetT:  that’s the one I’m currently taking! It’s my first BC pill and I have had ZERO side effects from it, I love it. Short periods of about 2-3 days, no weight gain, no acne, doesn’t make you emotional, basically it rocks.
