I think leaving the door open to the outside would be best, I’m sure once you leave the room it will run outside

Leave the door open, and if it doesn’t leave on it’s own, shoo it out with a broom or something?  lol

My husband and his sister had a squirrel get in their house when they were little.  They dressed up in winter clothes and armed themselves with tennis rackets and brooms and the like, and tried to get it out.  I guess the neighbor eventually had to come uh…”remove” it…with a gun.  They both hate squirrels to this day, (my husband was also bitten by one a few years later, so that really doesn’t help their case).  *I* think squirrels are adorable.  And chipmunks!

Put some peanuts outside the back door (with the door open). Check it every so often. The animal should go for th peanuts, then you walk into the room and the animal runs away from the house.
