I bought some lovely earrings yesterday that I thought would be perfect. I put them on today just to test out if they’re going to irritate my ears. I was in the bathroom putting my contacts in and I thought how I should close the lid on the toilet just in case my earrings fall in.. and plop!! Yup! I now have one toilet earring which I’ve cleaned off very well.
I’ve had this problem before where the earrings are long & dangly and the backing slowly slides off and the earring just comes right out of my ear. Any suggestions on what to do to keep them on??

I’d look for those little rubber earring stoppers that some danglies come with as part of their packaging…they’re usually found on earrings that have the wires, not the posts like your picture.
*search for “earring stops” on amazon

@Eight6Eleven: Thanks! I was just rummaging through my jewelry and found some! Hopefully this works.
Now I just need to stop seeing a face in the earrings!!

Maybe you could switch the backings to ear wires. I never even need the little stoppers to hold up my big dangly ones with those.

A common trick among ballroom dancers is fake eyelash glue (but we have clip-on earrings). It should work with these too, just put a bit around the plastic part that stays on the back of your earlobe and you should be set.

OH NO! I see the face too!!!
@squeak: That’s also a great idea! I never thought of that.

@GreenDream: That’s a good idea too! I don’t know how I would do that with this earring.
@squeak: Thanks! I will give that a try if the rubber stoppers don’t work! I have another pair that is super heavy so I will have to try that with those earrings!
