- Wedding: September 2014
I am recently engaged and just starting the planning process. I live in Boston but am planning a Newport, RI wedding (my hometown). I have always hoped to find a smaller church for my wedding so that my 100-150 guests fill it up rather than being scattered with one or two people in a row. I just like how it looks and feels better that way.
My childhood church is large with wings of additional seating, I feel it would just swallow us! Plus my childhood priest is now retired and my Mom says she doesn’t really like the new guy.
HOW do I go about finding a church or a chapel? HOW do I go about finding a priest? I dont’t have a relationship with any church or priest down there now that I don’t live there.
I just have no idea how this part works, any help or advice is appreciated!
(Do I need to figure this out before booking a venue for the reception and locking in a day?)
After a quick google search I found that Salve Regina University has a school chapel which seems pretty but I have no connection to the school – is that weird?
