Start scouting garage sales, yard sales, and antique places…the junky ones.  You’ll find chairs…it’ll just be a pain in the neck.  Looking for what, like 50 chairs?  If you spend $5 on each that’ll be $250…but then you’ll have 50 chairs knocking around.  Maybe rent chiavari chairs to mix in with those the venue has?

@MrsLeonardo:  My grandfather used to own a farm, and he had about one million wooden folding chairs in one of the barns that we used for things like…extra people at Thanksgiving and such.  So they were pretty basic, but they could be used for events if necessary.  Maybe look into something like that, which wouldn’t be too hard to store.  Of course…40 extra chairs is a lot!!!  Can you afford the cost of buying all of them and then donating them to a church or something?
