@Mrscdnnavywife:  Will you mostly be done bleeding by then? For me, after five days I only need a pantyliner (maybe), so I’d just use the bathroom however I usually would without being on my period (although I haven’t quite figured out how I’ll do that in my dress, either). Good luck!

Well I found a great tip while on here for going to the bathroom in your dress, and it was perfect.  I didn’t need anyone.  I went into the handicap bathroom alone.  So there was a post on it but I can’t find it right now… but you straddle the toilet, so you’re facing the wall, that way you can hold up the dress yourself (and the back doesnt risk falling in the toilet.)  I wore a pair of undies that I could just yank over to the side, and made sure I had my tp all ready before I went so I didn’t have to fiddle with ripping it off.  I imagine anything else you need to do in there regarding your period, you could also easily manage that way.

EDIT: I am silly.

Do you think it will be less heavy by then?

There is a weddingbee page somewhere which describes peeing in your wedding dress facing the toilet. You take your panties off and straddle the toilet, i.e. sitting back to front. Since you’re taking off your panties anyway, use a panty liner. Or if you really want to use a tampon, surely you’d only need to change it once at most, by day 5?

I started a thread on it a while back. I’m sure there are others, as well. I did not have my period though. The first time I went, I took one leg out of my underwear, lifted my dress up, and straddled the toilet. I wasn’t very happy that the photographer snapped a picture of it at the time but now I laugh about it. The second time I went into the handicapped toilet because I had to do number two. I pulled my dress up as high as it would go, pulled my underwear down with the other hand and sat on the toilet. I swear that dress was so tight it was squeezing the shit out of me literally. I think if you are close enough to one of your bridesmaids and you could access the handicapped toilet, once you get your dress pulled up and underwear down, perhaps she could hand you the tampon under the door?

Well, I know some bees have said they DID ask for help from a sister or bff… so there’s that. I’ve heard sitting backwards on the toilet is helpful too.

I’d probably double up too, put a thin pad on as well as a tampon (or cup, which would be better and safer, but not something to experiment with on your wedding day if you’ve never used it before.)

I would probably ask my mum to come in and help me hold it up. Poor mum’s! They get stuck with the crappiest things.
