I’m so confused by all this wedding stuff. I NEVER thought I’d ever actually get married, but now I am, and I have no idea what to do. I’ve tried on way too many dresses, and I had that moment where I saw myself in this dress, and I cried and it was beautiful. But, I can’t justify that kind of money on a dress that (God-willing) I’ll only wear once. I found a beautiful, but simple, dress on a clearance rack. It’s not sexy at all, but it seems to suit me. Doesn’t make me want to cry, but it’s the kind of dress I wanted to find when I first started looking for wedding dresses. Boat neck, a-line — simple and classic. THe other one is David Fielden’s 4022 — sheath, low back, lace trim. Gorgeous, but costly. How do you decide what kind of dress to wear? Both were beautiful and spoke to me in different ways. I’m leaning toward budget friendly, but the more expensive one is definitely a show stopper. My friends and family are NO help, because I’m like bridal Barbie for them. The man is voting for the sexy dress. I’m just feeling really indecisive.

I’ve worked as a bridal consultant (basically the bride’s personal shopper @ Alfred Angelo Bridal) now for a while. I always tell my brides when they are going in between two dresses that they MUST go with the one that they love in their heart- You NEVER wear a #2 or #3 or an OK dress…. you only wear #1- and thats it! You cannot go with one that will suffice- it’s your day and this is THE ONE time that you should not try to please anyone but yourself. Go with your heart, trust your gut and you will never regret it. I always tell my brides too, that the one thing you can not skimp on is the gown- because this is the one thing you will always look back on and see in ALL OF YOUR PICTURES!! Trust me, there are other ways to save money by going with a more expensive dress that you love- flowers, decor, invites, etc. Do what you can to have the gown of your dreams.
Hope this helps.

I felt the same way about finding a dress. A lot of money for one day. I agree with the previous poster-you will be remembering your dress in all your pictures and it’s the one day you should splurge that much on a dress. Good Luck!
