I really didn’t mean to, but Ioffended one of my Out of Town bridesmaids. She texted me to tell me that was shortening her dress for the wedding, and I texted her to ask her how short she was going. She’s going a bit shorter than I am wanting it to be. When I told her I would like it a little longer, that she said to trust her, and that she wouldn’t ruin the dress. She got snippy with me, and then she had to end the conversation.
I am a bit worried, because I did want the dresses to be a bit longer than they were in the picture with the model–especially for a church wedding. Also, I am feeling a bit annoyed because I paid for my bridesmaid dresses, and I feel like I should have some say in how they get altered. She has a habit of not listening and doing what she thinks is right (which sometimes works out for the better, and sometimes doesn’t).
I really want to smooth things over. But, I am scared that if I apologize, she will go ahead and continue to get her dress hemmed short. Any ideas for how to be tactful in this situation?
