BeeG35:  You may want to wait for final confirmation from another bee, but I believe it’s pronounced “Keen-Wah”

Yes, definitely keen-wah.  It tastes a little nutty.  Kind of like a more earthy rice.  It’s good!  Try it!

BeeG35:  Best description I have read:

“The taste and texture of quinoa is a bit like brown rice crossed with oatmeal. It’s fluffy, creamy, crunchy and somewhat nutty, all rolled into one.”

It tastes great simply done with sea salt, lemon juice and olive oil, or it takes on the taste of whatever you use in the recipe.

BeeG35:  It’s definitely pronounced “keen-wah” as other bees have said! It’s actually pretty good. I like it in salads! It’s a small grain that is kind of like a nuttier version of cous cous or brown rice.

BeeG35:  it’s keen-wah.

I work at a supermarket and the pronunciations I hear are hilarious; most people pronounce it queen-oah kin-oah or kwin-oah.

I’ve also heard some great pronunciations of mange tout, namely mange (rhymes with range) tout (rhymes with out).

Keen-wah. We usually use it in place of brown rice, it’s pretty good.

BeeG35:  Thank you, thank you, thank you for asking this!!  I’ve wondered this too!  I was told a while back what it was, but had forgotten it, and have butchered it ever since!!!
