I know I’d like to register and BBB, Macy’s and C&B. How soon is too soon to register? How do we spread the word to our guests? Do we need to go to the store in person?
Any tips and tricks you can share?

You should register before any of the invites go out for your bridal shower. I don’t think you would be too soon to start now but you might have to keep checking to make sure that things don’t become discontinued. You might want to register in the store if you aren’t sure what things you want. I was able to do most online because I knew exactly what I want. You can put the word out on your website and also let your parents know where you are registered so that they can tell people who ask.

I would do it soon to get it out of the way. Its fun, but very time consuming and kinda gets boring :/
I would also recommend you do as much as you can online just for times sake.

thanks! i was hoping not to have to go into the actual store at all and do it online. we don’t have a website so I will have to let parents/bridal party know I guess

Also, if you have a shower, it is okay for the host to put your registry information in the invites.

oh good! yes, I assume there’s gonna be a shower. Leaving that up to the girls.

we registered very early because family asked us to, they wanted to get us presents and who are we to say no! it was nice to be done with it, and you could always tweek it online, but the only issue is that you have to keep checking it to make sure that things aren’t discontinued.
usually guests will ask for the info, or you could put it in your shower invite. we put it on our wedding website.
i liked going to the store in person, that way you can see and touch the stuff that you are getting and there are no surprises. also, some places have stuff on the websites that aren’t available in stores, and my guests didn’t seem to like shopping online, which i was surprised at. so we ended up buying all that stuff after the wedding ourselves with gift cards.

We initially just set up accounts online first. It was easier than sitting down listening to stuff the person was suppose to tell us. We did go in and get the gun to play with – which I totally recommend!

I did all my registering online. It was the easiest thing to do. FH does not really care what is on the list and I definately do not have the time to go to the stores to play with the gun. I seriously started my registry on an airplane using the wifi. It was pretty cool and it wasn’t like I had anything else to do.
I look at the list every few weeks and update it. I take out things that I really don’t need and I add other things in.
