Darling Husband and I have our new little kitten and she’s living in the bathroom right now. However, we want to let her out this weekend but don’t know how to kitten proof! Two things we need help with:
1) wires….She chews wires like crazy. Is there anything we can wrap them in or something so she won’t chew them?
2) Under our bed….there’s a boxspring that she can get into because it’s only covered by fabric so she could tear it up. Is there any way to prevent her from getting under our bed in the first place?

@Treasure43: For the wires, I think they make plastic tubing you can wrap around the wires so if she chews she’s only chewing the tubing, not the wires.
As for under the bed, all I can say is good luck. Unless you want to keep her out of the bedroom completely, there’s not much you can do to keep her out from under the bed aside from blocking it off on all sides. Or you could get a large piece of wood to go under the box-spring so if she goes under the bed there’s only wood above her (rather than fabric she can claw at).

Get Bitter Apple spray- I believe it’s marketed towards dogs but spray it on the wires and that should stop. She needs to learn to not do it.
For the bed: just hope she doesn’t realize?

My cat doesn’t chew wires so I can’t help with that. But he got into the box spring long before we realized it. Really, we don’t care much about as long as we have a bed skirt or a comforter long enough so we can’t see it, it’s actually one of his favorite places to sleep. You could store things under the bed though to prevent him from being able to get in there?
