(Closed) how do you add a font?

hey caroline! it’s easier than it seems.

 OK. when you download the file, since you have a mac, it should download into a .zip file (almost just like a pc). double click on it and it will open up a .ttf file. Just go into your applications folder and open up Font Book and just drag the .ttf file into the font book and voila!

If Word was open, you’d have to restart it to get the fonts to work.

Also, if you have leopard, and you download the fonts from a source like dafont.com, the font book should open up automatically for you.  Just click on the unzipped font file, and a little preview-type window will pop up with the downloaded font.  There should be an option to "add the font" at the bottom of the window.  Click and you’re done!  It should be available to all your apps.
